You chose that type of lifestyle probably that's why your saying like this. And am not married and yet am taking care of my paralyzed grandfather and working parents and am also working, basically am like a slave but I chose that because my sister didn't want to do because shes married n has her life and probably your brother must have thought same. And this is why it's not always good to blame the children, there are people like me actually even worse than me who handle such type of ungrateful elders. Don't we have a life? Wen i get married i will have to take care of my kids too so 3 generation , so it's like triple! Clearly you have issues or toxic inlaws who don't have sence to tell you to go be with your mom for some time atleast, what you mean by take care, are they sick? aren't they independent, your husband should take care. Anyways you dunno my story, i don't know yours, i responded because your comment was stupid everyone has a life and should get to live it their way. We are not here to only take care of elders not everyones purpose is the same to be close by to the parents and this is anywhere in the world. Now tell me after so much doing what more guilt should I have? By not being more slave enough? Or the choice that i made? Not everyone has loving parents, i matured at a very young age even my elder sister 6 yrs elder after being married still she is kiddish. Who knows maybe in my past life i was a bitch that's why in this life am getting all the bad karma and slogging to make things right. Nobody deserves to live such a life continuously, a proper family is independent n thriving not dependent on others, when help is required then extended family n all should be there but not all the time n it's not about modernity n stuff even in ancient times people had their independence not everyone lived as kin groups.

*this is really a serious issue that is taking place nowadays, our parents they tried their level best to raise us. The question is they never thought that they were running short of money but rather they tried to use that money to make us happy. They could have easily left us one night by the street. But the fact is that the present generation is too much self centered , they are much concerned about themselves, they are busy taking care of themselves rather than their parents, leaving them in the old age homes. It is high time and needs to be stopped right now.
