Like I understand, all these african folktales preach forgivesness, love, respect among others, which is indeed wonderful. However my point is we will forgive yes but that doesn't necessarily means that I will or need to accept you back into my life. We forgive and go our separate ways no ill feelings. My opinion.

Well I learned and that in some countries being a female sucks. Not even your parents want you I also learned that there's a lot of desperate women out there. Willing to put up with anything out of so-called love. Love doesn't hurt there's no way you can say you love someone in the same breath betray them. Some humans are really weird

No, I strongly disagree; this is not about forgiveness. This story is about a very selfish man. Not only did he leave his wife he went and laid with another woman, and had a baby girl. He made the mistress feel like the problem because she knew she was having girl. And....the family excepted her. Now he decides to go back to his wife because she had a boy and he wants to do right by his family. I don't know who wrote this story but you're mine is screwed up. If you think this is a Sweet Love Story. The man was selfish and the male determines the sex of the child.

Yes I agree, the story says the Mother-in-law was a kind woman, I disagree because she treated his wife like trash especially after sacrificing - pulling them out of poverty?? This was disappointing! She could've divorced him, He would've been able to see his children. However the blatant disrespect his family had shown her &. her children?? I wish you ALL peace! It would be Buh-bye!!👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾

It is obvious this story is about forgiveness, but these stories only serve to permit weak people like the husband to make mistakes and they can continue to make mistakes because only God judges, and thereore as mortals we must forgive. So I agree with comment. It is a story about a weak selfish man, and dare I say it, a weak woman who doesn't value her worth either. She chose to brood for someone who selfishly chose building a life with his mistress over her and their family until he realised that he was deceived and betrayed himself. I laughed when he grieved over being betrayed by his mistress, what a joke of a man he is. If you have to forgive, then maybe do so and put that dark chapter in your pages of history and create a new and better chapter with something or someone else who has better morals and more loyalty.

I don’t like this story,he wouldn’t have come back to his wife if not for the baby boy. Women should not be subjected to this kind of treatment, whether boy or girl , children are all special, God created them for a special purpose,after all he was the one that put the children in the woman’s womb,to me big karma should have happened to him first , this forgiveness came easy.please mend the story and give us something for us to be happy. I disagree this forgiveness that we are all talking about this man left his wife and children. She went to ask for help from his family. They didn’t think she was not worth their time, He took off didn’t take care of his children and now he wants to come back. Is she supposed to take him back just like that That is selfish. if I was her, I would make sure he proves himself before I even think about taking him back. That is why us women always get screwed because we think with our hearts not with our brain sometimes. So what happens to the mistresses baby? Is he going to abandon her? It’s not her fault that her dad is ungrateful and selfish.
