As a Tennesseean, I’m quite ashamed to see how blatant and constant an attempt at silencing the dissenting opinions of their colleagues, the citizens, and the underrepresented have become by the governments run by GOP leadership. Tennessee used to be a place of neighborly waves, a slowed down lifestyle where happiness was commonplace and acceptance felt like the standard. It’s still the south and the south has always had its problems, but what I’m witnessing these days is a total shift in the type of people I see every day. People have been pouring into the state from across the country no doubt attracted by the hate filled sentiment being pushed by this country’s right side these days. I see so many “patriots” who think that a Don’t Tread On Me license plate and a thin blue line sticker mean that you are on the right side. This is all so ironic because as we continue down this path I’m unsure how they can’t see the irony in their actions and the actions they support of lawmakers. It’s becoming a scary world to live in if you aren’t what they want you to be, and you can be damn sure that they will continue to tread right over you and your children as long as it suits their agenda. I sincerely hope our country can go back to a place of peace and brotherhood, or find it at all in most cases.

As a black man, not republican or democrat, it's ridiculous to me what we settle for in politics. All three of these representatives deserve to be expelled. Protests are for the people, not the politicians. Protest doesn't make deals, protest is so the people can show their displeasure. But you're an elected official. You're supposed to talk and figure things out amongst each other, not do grandstanding protests.
