Pre-pandemic pictures. The town is just now getting back on its feet economically as well as artistically. (05/24). I retired here by choice, after being a regular visitor since 1960. Culture, civilization, and community. Strict values that keep the town attractive, i.e. no nuisance signage. If you want big-box shopping, it's 13 miles away

Coming of age in Ashland in the early/mid seventies was excellent. Lots of hippies and killer weed.

Dear zakare, unfortunately I'm not in Ashland anymore. I left the city in 2012, and Arabs community was too small at that time, you can find them at the mosque in Talent or phoenix every Friday they will help you in knowing the area very well. good luck

nice video but would have liked to hear the sounds of the city instead of soundtrack, am exploring cities in Oregon, my Japanese American kids can live / get educated in relative safety surrounded by nature and decent people, any advice appreciated, thanks!

I lived there in '75. The one thing I remember most about Ashland was the hippy scene. It was the 70's everyone slept around. I don't think I had that much sex in my entire life. This was before big tech (no internet, no cell phone, no TV.) All I did was get high and have sex.

I'm one of them. Every Berkeley peacenik from the 60s retired and moved to Ashland. (Although I'm originally a Corvallis guy.) No regrets. Culture, civilization, and community.

Hi Alan, I'd love to use approximately 1 second of material from this video in a documentary I'm producing. Please let me know if we can chat further to iron out details!

Terrible air pollution from smudge pots and stagnant Rogue Valley. It's too hot in summer and it takes a day drip or road trip to get to the Coast or Illinois River. The winters are too cold and Mt Ashland ski faces south so the snow melts.
