I am gonna miss Iohan hugely. Every time he uploaded a video, I was excited to come back home from work, have a few snacks and drink and just watch him explore the world and hear his warm voice. He was the main reason I got into bikepacking myself. Devastated to hear he is not with us anymore.

I met Iohan in Alaska in 2014, followed his journey all these years, this year I did the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. I finished it on November 15th 2022, and I came back and watched this video again… man… Iohan is still the best! Now I can recognize a lot of the places he went through in that cold and icy, snowy conditions. What a guy he was.

Iohan, this was so awesome...my fave video thus far. I feel so badly that you lost your bear license plate. I am doing that route in 2017 to celebrate turning 60. I can't wait! It must have been awesome riding alone in the fall/winter. If anyone coud do it, it was you. I love all the wildlife and human encounters you documented, especially the horses! I think that one animal in the tree was a pine martin. We have them here in Oregon, too. I am glad to know so many people stopped to offer help. This was your most amusing video, too. I will watch again for sure. I am excited to see you are in Ranger training! Keep us posted on your journey. Jo
