Be careful how you "drop" it, don't just stop using it as-is, making sure to purge as much as you can, then replace all the data with dummy-data, then leave the account open and just stop using it. It does exist. I left social media (ig and fb - for now) one year ago and throughout the last year I noticed that I was living in a fake bubble. Most of what I cared didn't even exist in real life. I spent a whole year not worrying about being canceled, I wasn't forced to speak woke, I wasn't forced to be acted in any way or pick any side. It's insane. I didn't stress worrying that the world is at a brink of collapse. At some point I'll quit yb too and just use unlogged, because the algorithm always try to push me to the far right.

Multibillion € fines. The fact checkers are there because EU social media regulations demands it if they have more than certain amount of users. X got massive fines. Although I don’t understand why X isn’t sanctioned harder and mandate X (and Meta) to leave the EU market. Can’t ban access to the sites, but if they can’t have offices and servers in the EU and have to get payed through international transaction system instead of the single market if corporations want to place adds, they will loose huge incomes and a large amount of users.
