I highly recommend you guys switch to One Pace for p2. Because One Piece is weekly they tend to overly stretch what in the chapter gets animated not to catch up to the manga and it drags a lot at some points. One Pace cuts a lot of the stalling out and flows much better.

Jackie you’re right, Zoro was actually the first straw-hat to show early signs of observation and armament haki, you can actually go back to it (ep. 119) to connect the dots. He subconsciously used observation haki to sense the stones falling on him to dodge them and used armament haki subconsciously to cut Mr. 1. I think you guys are on the right track about the general consensus of haki but when you feel someone else’s presence like the baboons did with Mihawk, doesn’t necessarily mean they have haki because the intimidation went off from Mihawk ;)

The only reason I don't think zoro can hear the voice of all things is because he didn't hear zunisha. As opposed to Momo and Luffy. Whether it's armament or observation, zoro used haki to cut mr 1.

You've actually already seen one other example of a strong enough Devil Fruit ability, with no Haki, beating Armament shielding - specifically when Luffy's 2nd Gear punches overpower through Marigold's Armament blocking, when Luffy was dueling Boa's sisters in the arena. Haki augments you, but sufficient brute strength can make up for a lack of Haki, to a point. Recall that the Amazonians were shocked that Luffy could knock out the cat without Haki, owing to his sheer brute strength.

Do you know why the crew needed to train for 2 years before meeting back up at sabaody? It is because 2 years in real-world time had passed from when the crew got separated by Kuma and when they met back up in saboady. Can imagine how it felt for us week-to-week viewers to finally see the crew reunited? The feeling is indescribable.

A lot of fans have speculated that Zoro unlocked armament haki before the time skip before haki was actually explained. Zoro was also at a near death state meaning he had pushed beyond his physical limit. That was something Rayleigh explained for ones who unlock their haki.

Haki (armament haki) doesn’t completely cancel the power of devil fruit users like Sea stone or dark dark fruit from Blackbeard, it just makes you penetrate through its original body, it just makes them feel the real attack, it doesn’t makes them weak, if the opponent physical power way too strong, even if u used haki to attack them it still does nothing to them, unlike the sea stone that can really makes the devil fruits users weak.

Guys Haki doesnt cancel powers, it just allows your body to lose some of its properties, not to mention logia can still dodge when attacked as seen when Whitebeard stabbed Aoikiji.

You can say that Haki can cancel devil fruits, I mean you can cut a Logia users because of Haki and a normal person could never touch a Logia user. This means to me that you could cancel not all the power of the devil fruit, but at least a part of it.

A way to think about how haki is effecting devil fruit users is that the haki user is exerting their "will" upon the devil fruit user and making them solid/ normal upon impact. At least thats how I always understood it

armament works like wielding a sword or shield. e.g like mihawk vs zoro, both using sword. what determine the winner is how much strength and willpower that infused in their haki. and armament using stamina as fuel, observ using concentration/focus

I think because Logia users don't normally get hit due to them being made of an element, they may not prioritize training their Armament Haki. As Rayleigh said at 9:19 , most people lean towards one type of Haki, so for Logia users, I think they would typically train their Observation Haki to avoid hits altogether instead of using Armament to try to tank hits. But in the case of Ace protecting Luffy, Ace HAS to get hit otherwise Akainu would just get past him. Assuming Ace normally just needs to look after himself and use his Logia and Observation to avoid attacks, when it comes to protecting someone else, he had to take a direct hit from an admiral. Akainu is a Logia too, so even with applying the same logic of Armament Haki expertise and lack thereof to him, Ace would still lose due to elemental disadvantage.

One thing about haki, it bypasses the devil fruit to harm the "physical body" of the user but it doesn't mean that it nullifies the fruit ability. For example: If someone hits Luffy with a club infused with haki he will be harmed as if he was a "normal human" but he would still be rubber... also if the user being hurt also uses armament to defend then it becomes a battle of who's haki is better to determine who gets hurt basically. This is important because people think that against logias you can just outright win... not quite, if you for instance hit akainu with haki let's say with a punch, sure you would be able to hurt him if he doesn't defend himself with haki and doesn't dodge, but also his lava would still be active therefore unless you have really strong armament maki you would still be burnt... People seem to think haki is this instant win but it isn't, is most like something else to take into account for the fights. Hope this clears things up! Also congrats on making it this far!!
