Love this variety! They grow well and taste fantastic in Zone 5b, high altitude garden.

I grew them for the first time this year, and was blown away by the superb flavor and production. My plants reached over 6’ tall, and did well with minimal trellising.

I definitely want to grow these next year. My grandson loves to eat things raw while in the garden & I think he will love these.

I had some of those Royal purple sugar snaps right out of the garden a couple days ago. Thank you Doctor for your persistence!

NJ zone 7a. I get a spring crop which dies by June due to heat. I don’t get many pods. My dogs love them. Frost gets the fall crop before they are big enough to pick . This spring’s crop was truly dismal.

I'm in Zone 6. I plant them in mid- to late-March, and start harvesting them in mid-May. By mid-June they are done.

Nice video. One question, though - do you keep heirloom seeds of phytoaccumulator species?
@RareSeedsBC3 жыл бұрын
yes we do! rye, corn and sunflowers are a few that can be used for phytoremediation / phytoaccumulation

In India they are still eating pigeon peas. I can't even find sugar pea seeds here at all.

Great video, somewhat spoiled by adverts. One for a ridiculously overpriced fake “composting” machine and one from an “herbalist” calling herself a doctor. Seems a shame for con artists to be advertising on such a good channel.

This channel doesn't control the ads you see

Sugar Snap Pea were a big disappointment to me. They were not as god as real snow peas or regular pod peas.
