I love Kale, I have to try this one. The stalks look like they could be dried out and possibly used for tomato stakes.

I have tree kale. It's starting to look like that. I'll remember to try making a walking stick when it's ready. It's a year and a half since planting the seed. Florida, afternoon shade in summer, full sun in winter. Its about 4' tall.

So, this is different from tree collards? I see so many different names for this type plant (walking stick cabbage, for one) that idk one from another

They are mostly all the same thing, but some of them vary in growth and such / pretty much sub varieties while some are same

A few years back, I had a collard green tree. I grew it in a pot and it went on for a few years till I had to move and gave it some nice lady. Made me a lot of food. I am trying to grow one of these from seed now. if anyone knows how to make it grow faster, I would love to know.

When will the 2020 catalog be available?
@RareSeedsBC5 жыл бұрын
We are working on it now. Generally speaking, the pre-ordered Whole Seed Books are mailed directly from the printer in early November by bulk mail, and can take up to two weeks to arrive. The free edition is mailed directly from the printer around the end of November by bulk mail. Requests made after that time will be shipped in about 2 week intervals beginning the middle of December, directly from the printer by bulk mail. Requests made for the free catalog after the middle of December should usually take 4-6 weeks to receive. Keep an eye on rareseeds.com for info on how to pre-order the Whole Seed Catalog. Thanks so much!

Will this set seed before winter in zone 6
@RareSeedsBC4 жыл бұрын
That can depend on a number of factors, kale is a biennial and typically will not bloom until the second years growth.
@billirogers32064 жыл бұрын
RareSeeds so im assuming it wont survive our mo. Winter so in order to set seeds i would need to grow one in a greenhouse, correct? Im thinking this would b excellent crop for goats and sheep.
