Nothing warms my heart more than a tidy 😍 and methodical seed planting Richard! I'd avoided vermiculite tops before but may give it go this year since I'm planting much more than ever before- might even do a wee side by side with soil tops to quell my curiousity 🌱

Really looking forward to this year’s content. The concept of “homesteading” with other families is a really good one:)

First time checking into the channel in a while. Cool to see you pivoting to homesteading in these times. Must be nice to spend more time with the family, and have a slower pace.

I’m excited to see and absorb the ways your methodical mind adapts the larger scale techniques to a smaller scale. Watching these video’s a couple times, taking notes so I don’t miss the goodies appropriate to my context and spending time chewing over how to apply it on my homestead. Thrilled to see you shaping your world so it works for you. Enjoy!

A terrific overview of your start to the sowing season, thanks Richard. It still seems like an awful lots of food you'll be producing, even with the extra guests and homesteaders on the farm. I'll be keen to see how much you may have left over to preserve etc for the colder months.

I live in Quebec in urban city you and I have the same weather cold and snow during winter last spring I put a cable heater usealy it is for a roof I put it in the soil at 4 inches I plug in the 1 January for test we have a lot of -25C and the temperature of the soil was around 8-10C and temperature of the greenhouse between 5 - 10C It is less expensive to heat the soil because the soil heat the air I no now I can grow harvest crop all year around

Hi Richard. As a new farmer in Sweden I find it so very frustrating to know where to find things/materials. May I request that you perhaps gift your followers a list of suppliers that you use... pretty please?

Hi Richard, any chance you could mention the place you buy the trays? Time to get mine started, shelving just about to be finished. Looked at Wexthuset but not sure they are the sturdy variety you have.

When planting tomatoes, kale, in 64x trays, what about transplanting? Is the 10cm pot only transplant before transplanting to bed or is there any extra steps? What about 144x trays, can I directly transplant them from tray to bed? Also some gardeners suggest to grow first seedlings in a bunch together, then transplant the plants in a quite early age, 7-8cm. They say, that root system disturbance is good for development of strong plants. Would you agree?
