I was looking at saving $10 a month to buy my seeds in bulk. With $120 I can buy 6 varieties, one pound of each. For me alone $.25 cents at the dollar store and sometimes less was fine. But now that I want to try micro greens your math works out much better. Thanks for sharing. I am about to harvest my first Swiss chard. It’s such an amazing feeling.

Absolutely awesome video! It is mine blowing how informative you are to the rest of us. You were sent from the heavens, not even in schools are they this informative without having to pay extra. I am so green even at my mature age to growing, both Hydroponically or regular dirt growing in beds. Spent most of my adult years working for a living and supporting my family, Now in my later years, I find myself exploring hobbies, long desired and had no time to enjoy. Microgreens seemed to be so foolish when you pay $2 and $3 dollars a pack, But this will change not only what I eat but how I grow them to eat. Thank you so very much and please keep on teaching.

They just had an awesome sale on a bunch of micro greens, may still be going on. A lot of mustard varieties, arugula, etc.

Yep, it's way better to buy bigger packs for microgreens. Even better if you have the space is to put a few plants in the garden and let them go to seed. My mixed brassica and lettuce micro and mini greens are all from free saved seed. Great video Mike.

In Canada buying in little packs is not good for micro greens. better to buy 1-5 kg from mum's./ they can ship to usa as well. for somethings saving your own seeds is good

Depends on the seed. Some last a long while but the germination rate drops.

Yes, but be sure to check the expiration date. I bought some at Rollin Oats and never thought to check. They were expired, but still sprouted. They probably would have given a discount 👍

I didn’t even know there was such a thing as microgreens or seeds that you can purchase in bulk until I found your channel! Today I showed my two year old granddaughter how to dig a hole and plant a potato and we also dug a few trenches and planted some peas and some carrot seeds. After we covered each up we both told the seeds what to do …GROW!! 😂❤️🥰🙏🏻🍁🇨🇦

I'm planning on getting started soon, and I'm wondering where you purchase your nutrient solutions. Are there a variety of blends for different plants, or is there a well-rounded product that you can use for most anything. I appreciate the advice on seeds. I'll be ordering soon.

I’ve been all over the internet looking for spinach seeds for sprouting. Closest I could get was pre sprouting seeds in water/peroxide mix on paper towels, then placing the sprouted seed in rock wool for growing hydroponically. Do you have any advice on this?

How long do seeds last? For unused seeds, are there any storage requirements?
@ZaynneThaWook
@ZaynneThaWook 5 ай бұрын
They can theoretically last decades if stored cool dark dry place. However, germination rate decreases over time. I would say most seeds you can keep 2-3 years after the expiration date on the packet
@lovealwaysmom
@lovealwaysmom 5 ай бұрын
@@ZaynneThaWook TY. How do I find out the germation rates? Would they be in the description information on the packages and/or their websites?
@ZaynneThaWook
@ZaynneThaWook 5 ай бұрын
@@lovealwaysmom I would say don’t worry too much on the specific germination rates. Just look for seeds that maybe have good reviews or recommendations. And if you’re using good seed but having low germination rates it’s most likely something you’re doing wrong
