TOPIC: THE FAVOUR OF GODLY CHARACTER
SCRIPTURE: So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn't have a worry in the world, except to decide what he wanted to eat!
Gen 39:6 (NLT)
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A person with character will attract and maintain favour, but a person who gains favour without character will soon lose it.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that Potiphar entrusted Joseph with complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph in charge, Potiphar didn’t have a single worry except deciding what he wanted to eat!
That was a perfect demonstration of godly character by Joseph. Potiphar’s mind was at rest because Joseph’s integrity and faithfulness gave him peace and confidence.
This is the kind of lifestyle that positions people for promotion. God is always searching for people to lift, but many people make it difficult for Him to lift them because of the crookedness of their ways.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to be a person of godly character to attract favour from both God and men.
2. Like Joseph, take responsibility in all areas of life.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to be a person of godly character. Help me to grow in favour with both You and men, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
