thanks for video! i purchased the full tutorial but still don't get how to set this up initially. How do you actually configure the hardware for MIDI to be controlling the hardware's sounds? like what is the wiring and ableton setup? when i set it up, I can do *either* midi (using it as controller) or hardware audio in as audio. also my midi in track has an audio out option but not a midi out. thank you

how you dealing with the latency between Live and your hardware synths?

Creat creative stuff dude! very inspiring! part of your piece reminded me a bit of a Buckethead tune with the arpeggiator pattern you used. Except he did his manually with this guitar and amazing skills. Thanks again man, great stuff, and love your setup!

Anthony. This channel is gold. Keep em coming. A great blend of performance and engineering. Most Ableton channels out there are too EDM focused

Been very attentive for all of your lessons and have learned a lot. Revisited this video to see what drum machine you used, and noticed you're subscriber count is currently sitting at the most synchronic number in my life right now. 447. Just another little wink that I'm on the right path. Thanks again Anthony. Keep making me smarter please!

I want to learn how to use my M-Audio Oxygen 25 (Blue or 3rd Gen) to make Program Changes in Xpand! 2 and other plug-ins. I going to check out your tutorial now.

Love this track ! I'm looking for the right set up in terms of midi controllers - I want to be able to record and play clips / loops and create scenes on the fly. I don't know what controllers to get. I play guitar, I sing, I have hardware synths but I'd also like to be able to use VST synths, I'd like to have a drum pad so i can play drums with sticks.

Hey Anthony. Have you ever had problems with noise from your guitar amp when connecting your h9 to usb?

Yo Anthony! I've been binge watching this channel since I found it a few days ago and I'm honestly thrilled. These are some of the most clean cut, professional Live tutorials out there right now. I have a question which I was hoping you could help shed some light on. I've been trying to find a simple way to send MIDI CC messages from Live to my Korg Volca Keys, but not through clip automation. For example, something I'd like to do it use the LFO plugin to modulate the Volca's filter becuase the LFO built into the Volca Keys only has triangle and saw shapes. I did find a 3rd party Max for Live plugin called CC_map8, but it only allows for the mapping of up to 8 parameters where the Volca has 16 (I think...) CC parameters available. Adding 2 instances of CC_map8 to a track breaks the plugin so I'm searching for other ways to do this, otherwise I'm probably going try creating my own M4L plugin for this purpose. Thanks again for the great work!

Hey Anthony, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! These videos are coming in perfect timing for my band, as we prepare to switch from Reason to Ableton. I have a question regarding midi remote scripts. I noticed in this video you have a red box on clips you've selected, much like you find with an APC40 or launchpad, only yours is just on one clip at a time. Did you program that box, and can you move it around session view to get to other clips? I'm asking because I'm building a custom pedal for looping with ableton, and I would like to have direction buttons on it so I can move to new clip slots with my feet while playing. Can you shed any light on this topic?
@SeedtoStage7 жыл бұрын
Keagan Semon the single red box you see here is from a remote script called Clyphx. This script increases the power of what clips, controllers, etc can do in Live. As my community grows here, I intend on doing a lot of videos with about Clyphx and the various ways it can be used in live performance. As for you designing a custom pedal, that sounds great! In terms of moving clips with your feet, a good starting point might be using something like Bome's midi translator.

Thanks man! Gotta say this script stuff is a bit over my head. I may have to find someone to help me with this once the pedal is built. I'd love to share with you my plan for what this frankenpedal will be used for if you're interested to hear. Btw, I've been a dosio fan for about 5 years now and I've always admired the tech side of what y'all do, but these videos are showing just how deep the rabbit hole goes! So lucky to have this to learn from and be inspired by. Kudos

Hey Anthony! Thanks so much for these videos, they are a huge help with my journey into Ableton. Just wondering which kind of USB port you use for connecting gear like a Lauchkey Mini, Artura Sequencer, and Akai Mpd 26!!!
@SeedtoStage7 жыл бұрын
You can get any USB hub, I would recommend a powered one so you dont run out of juice and tax your computer battery. I've been using this one: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/USBHub7DLink

Hello my names Casey i am using the tr8s and ableton with the scarlett 8i8 as my interface. Was wondering how i can setup this device to respond like the minilogue in your video. Which midi connections do i need to make and which devices should i connect via usb and proper preferences configuration to achieve Manipulative controls/ scene creation/ ect. I am new to ableton and love playing hardware beat machines and moog mother 32/dfam modular synths. Any help is appreciated thanks! I would love to further the synchronization of my gear and ableton for more efficient live performance and studio production

Are you routing all midi thru each piece of hardware or using a midi splitter? One problem I've run into is that some synths, etc, don't offer midi thru routing, in which case you can run a midi signal through a splitter and send the information separately to each piece of hardware.
@SeedtoStage7 жыл бұрын
Each piece of hardware is unique. And yes hardware doesnt always feature midi thru. In this case, I would suggest that you use a usb to midi interface (they're $12 each) and address it uniquely in live. This is what I'm doing with the analog RYTM here. Then i just used a usb hub to plug everything in. More and more, midi hardware nowadays almost always have USB connectivity.
