That's a cool track that you pieced together from Anthony's voice samples. Made me chuckle and also nod in admiration at the same time.

Just want to say I've been rabidly consuming your vids lately as part of my sound design workflow (usually like to watch some educational material to get inspired before working), and your channel is an absolute GOLDMINE. IMO there aren't as many great channels for people who already have a good amount of experience with sound design, who might be at an "intermediate to advanced" level, but who are nonetheless looking for some new ideas/workflows/tricks to mess around with. You move at a good, steady pace (not too slow or too fast), do a great job of explaining what's going on without dumbing it down, and most importantly, you tie every sound, patch, or workflow hack into broader sound design/composition/production concepts. Shit is also especially useful for a dude like me, whose main expertise is in another DAW (logic). I might know my way around Ableton well enough to record, produce, and mix, but I'm still trying to build that vocabulary of advanced techniques that will bring my Ableton skills up to par with what I can in my other DAW. This shit is getting long, so in short: Keep it up dude! Thanks for all the hard work and knowledge you're sharing with us.

This is crazy cool, I’ve never knew this device could be such a cool tool for sound design (and vocal fx).

Your videos in Ableton are inspiring and make sound effects I did not know were possible, possible! I have learned how to better use and combine the different tools which I believe makes me a better musician.

Thank you as always for these great tutorials. I was messing with the Vocoder after your first video and was having problems actually using it musically for recording my "singing". Would be awesome to finish out your vocoder series with more detail on how you use the keyboard in conjunction with your voice to get nice lyrical ideas recorded to use in songs. You da man!

I love the spectral filtering idea, unfortunately it doesn't work! When I choose External on the vocoder and choose wavetable, there's no sound coming in. The fader on the wavetable synth is down, no sound, and so is pre & post FX on the vocoder. The only way I can hear both channels is if both recording arms are on red, but that defeats the whole idea... Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Great Aphex Twin profile by the way! :-) and thanks for all these awesome tips!
@Elvi18C3 жыл бұрын
amazing stuff man. Quick question: I did your first example of spectral filtering and everything sounded great, but after I record or map out what i want I get no sound back when I try to replay it. Would you happen to know why this is happening?
