Another great tutorial. Thanks! Also, if you ever wondered why the pencil tool is the letter B, the word for “pencil” in German is “Bleistift”.

You can also hold your ALT key while drawing with the pencil to draw freely while you still have your grid enabled :)

I'm a total Ableton noob, and some of this stuff is pretty humbling, and overwhelming, but it's also always completely fascinating and I watch all these vids. You're great at doing what you do.
18:15 Also, while in the automation view you can add all of your programmed automations at once by right-clicking under the tracks name and choosing 'add line for every automated envelope' Great job man, keep it up !

Thank you so much Seed to Stage. Nice. Really liked the "Selection Skewing". I noticed you have automation on your track volumes. I was trained that track volume automation is advisable through "Utility" at end of effects chain. Either way still achieves your goals. Ableton possibilities and approaches are endless. Once again thank you so much. Nicely done.
@SeedtoStage4 жыл бұрын
I've always found that approach to be nonsense. A. The volume slider for each track controls track output post effects anyway, B. Its a nice visual aid to see the sliders and their various positions. If there is one slider not to touch imo, that would be the master slider. That way whatever limiter youre using is true to its setting. A utility plugin is best for controlling relative width, checking summed mono, and adding or subtracting gain inline

@@SeedtoStage Thank you for the insight Seed to Stage. I appreciate it. I believe the reason for automating volume changes through Utility, is to keep the main audio level slider on the track for when you are in the mixing phase of the audio production workflow. Agreed that slider positions are definitely a nice visual aid and additional Utility functions. Thanks. Looking forward to your courses. Already submitted my email.

Dude I so find your tutorials so awesome and so informative. I have a little question about your courses, I know you keep them up to date have you incorporated Live 11 in them. I know its a lot to ask as it's only just come out, my Birthday is coming up and I can so see me asking my family for money towards your courses ☺️

Is there a way to limit the range (magnitude of the effect) displayed in the automation window? Sometimes the effect is so sensitive that I want to have extremely fine control, but even expanding the vertical size of the automation window doesn't get me as much control as I want.
@SeedtoStage4 жыл бұрын
you could map the control to a macro, then limit the macro range, then look at the macro knob's automation. boom

There is. All the way down the 'Editition' menu or in the right-click menu, both while selecting what part of the automation you want to simplify.
