The car that got me in to cars and made my dream about black e36 sedan from when i was like 11 years old :) and now what? I'm 19 almost 20. I work on car's every day i have my dream job, and last year i saved up some money and bought my baby as my christmas pressent to my self :) '96 e36 320i sedan dark gray/black. I love my car more then any thing. And building it like a DailyDrifter. Thanks to Norbe for building awesome car that inspired me to build mine ^.^ e36 is the best car! I hope some time in the life my car will inspire someone like The Ugly Duckling inspired my. Follow your dreams work hard for them and some day in the life they will come true! Awesome story mate E36's are just awesome still have an e36 323i Coupé in my 80s/90's bmw collection that is getting an little out of control got 16 of them lol, my first bmw was an e36 325i sedan with an optional 25% lock lsd what an time had so much fun with it yeah :D:D

New Ugly Duckling, but this time white E46 sedan (to symbolise the duckling growing into a swan) with M54B30 and lightened shell (door panels, seats, airbags, rear window mechanism delete, empty trunk, welded diff and some nice wheels, like those rugged looking BBS's you had on the original ugly duckling) . So I currently drive an E61 with a M54B25 in it, it's supposed to have about 192hp and it's a nice engine, but I've heard many nice things about the B30 version. Though in it's standard state, I don't know if it's that great of an upgrade? Built M54B30's are apparently as powerful if not more powerful than standard S50/S52 blocks, but that could cost a bunch of money I think. Any thoughts on this and if it's possible to upgrade my 525i automatic to a 530i without breaking the bank? For example, would love to manual swap that car but I've heard you're better off just looking for a manual in the first place, so engine swaps are probably just as complicated I presume? It probably won't be as easy as swapping my E30's M20B20 to a M20B25 which was maybe the most plug and play thing I've done to that car. :p

Christophe Billiet yeah thats the point e61 swap would be much harder because of electronics but its possible you would just need to find a new m54b30 engine if its not n54 or something i dont remember the engine codes right now but you can make a m50b30 stroker so that will be identical to s50b30 which is a american e36 m3 engine but it would be hard to get along with e61 electronics it would be easier to just swap to your e30 if you need those 75 killowats 😅

E46 is cheaper, but im not sure wether its too heavy, also i like the look of E36 more ... what should i do - save up for E36 or buy E46? Remeber, its for everyday use but must be suitable for drift practise ...

@@user0389 I bought BMW yesterday. E36 318is coupe, black, 129000km M42B18 with only one previous owner. It has idling problems though ... Maybe idling valve or airflow sensor .. tomorrow i will going to take a look at that. Can't wait to register it on tuesday :D
