Michael, good guest. Race it a difficult topic. I'm a white guy living in a mostly white land. When bad cops don't have black people to shoot, they shoot white people. I have had my oldest boy stopped on the sidewalk for the crime of walking with long hair and wearing a long coat. I have worked along side cops when I served with the National Guard. I TOO taught my children how to survive a traffic stop! White did not get me a job in a white world. At best white kept me out of jail when I deserved jail. I heard right? You and I are near the same age. Nobody will ever say, "Hey! There goes Michael Steele's twin brother" We will never hear that. Keep up the good fight Michael. (Sorry, I try to keep my comments under a billion words. Failed.)

Churches do not discuss right vs wrong. It's always Faith and prosperity.

The "prosperity gospel" anti-Biblical heresy is not preached in any of the churches that I have ever chosen to attend. I know that it *is* preached, unfortunately, in a lot of churches today, but many Christian churches *do* actually still discuss right and wrong and are not given over to the worship of money and/or politics, whether on the right or the left.

I am 76, female, white and love my Country. I just wanted to share how much I enjoyed this discussion! It was informative, thought provoking, and reminded me of the deep disparity that still exists in this country. If you’re white it’s easy to forget! That sounds banal, but the vast majority of my jobs during my 35 years of working outside the home were working for black men and women. It was an education that touched me deeply. They were great people and bosses who had to work three times as hard in the white world. They taught me how to be strong in the face of adversity, when to speak up for myself and when to keep quiet. I know you are both extremely busy men, but this conversation is badly needed. People can learn and move to become more well informed humans. Experience is usually the best teacher, but this feels very important for our future as a people and as a country. Thanks again and please continue this!😀

I actually appreciate Joe Biden's leadership, I am happy to vote for the Biden Harris ticket. I don't understand why some people feel like a president has to inspire them. These are extremely tough times because the Republican Party right now is negative, racist, and not working for the people. I thank Mr. Steele for being brave and speaking up for what is right. I love you Bakari, but please remember your president does not need to be all things, they just need to be hard working and have the people's best interest at heart.

As a senior white woman, the Leave it to Beaver life did exist in the sense the divorce rate was very low. Despite the fact some children experienced violence from parents but it is an advantage to have both parents and a whole family and I don’t know how to get back to that. It certainly isn’t with trump but Joe Biden has lived that life with his unconditional love for his struggling son and his strong marriage.

I agree with Micheal about our Generation. I’m 63YO, my Gen has not push the ball forward of progressive for our ppl. I’ve talk to my mom about this very subject. She admitted her generation failed to pass the baton of progress to my generation. They thought mistakenly the war on WS was won. I’ll say this unapologetically my generation failed the generation behind us and for the last 50+ yrs we became materialistic,lazy in our critical thinking and political progressions. Now we are the seniors.The results of our mistakes,outright selfishness and lack of being serious of our conditions as Blk ppl has caused tremendous damage.

Bakari, so spot on, in your reference about Biden/Trump. I see the similarities in both of them, that they both are rooted in racist tendencies. Yes Joe has black people around him, but in his old white man thinking and arrogance, he put himself in this position of being the only person who could beat Trump. If he really cared about this country, he would’ve stepped aside, and given ANYONE else on the D side a chance to run for president. If he loses, I will blame HIM!

They used the expression "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face". The key words in this expression for us is " have a plan". Where is ours, in the mist of a systemic and structured form of opposition? Did the people of D.C. come up with a plan, to stop the violence there, in the 90's (see my previous comment)? We've for half a century called for "Black Agendas", but none have been a list of things we do together, for our individual and collective benefit? These are the points of light - stars if you will, that we must first see to get ourselves right, in order to do effective defensive and offense battle against that which opposes us.
@victorwhitehead41934 ай бұрын
Gentleman I have enjoyed your conversation, and the only thing that I’m not in agreement with is the systems that you have talked about. They are broken and have been broken for years, any system that isn’t managed properly is broken and that is the problem. As I know that you know that this is called cause an effect. I am a registered Democrat because my mother was a registered democrat, but I can see the failures of both parties because of the gang mentality way of thinking. I was one of those young people that fell into the crack of fear and ignorance, but was blessed to be alive today, and having the lifestyle that I have ( considering ) my ignorance. I didn’t receive my GED until I was in my late 50’s, so I’m not a highly educated man but I am an intelligent man. At 69 years of age I have been studying the power of ignorance coupled with fear being black or white is all the same. There is a thing that I call “ ignorant construction “ and it means that for years man has built up to where they are at, from many reasons that they can give you. Maya Angelou said it best, when someone tells you who they are then believe them. Trump told people who he is, those that follow him can’t hear for whatever reason, Biden he told you who he is a politician. Now I understand that you gentlemen are saying to yourself what is this man saying about politicians. This is my thinking, I call it Victor’s Thinking some politicians of the old days just had a different way of thinking, but some of these politicians today don’t think to do nothing. They’re not politicians, they’re political con-artists, money and power is their only concern and that means that anyone of a tribal type back ground are lesser than them, even some whites fit in their todays climate. The sad thing is I will vote for Mr. Biden because look at my other choice. Much love to you all.
