I saw this movie as a young teen and loved the story! The writer actually had pretty good plans for 2 sequels but bc of something with the producers not thinking it made enough money his awesome universe came to a close🙄🙄 edit: spoilers but if you want to learn about the powers and what they find in the beginning since it’ll never be explained in a movie he’s got an interview where he spills the beans👍

This movie was super underated at the time. For the most part it has a good rating, but some hated it. I loved that it was your boring hero movie with a predictable plot, where everything works out in the end...etc. I love the twist of him becoming a villain. And to some degree you at first empathize with him because of his abusive dad. Granted the dad was also being mean because he was depressed, not that its alright though. They had planned on a second one but it got scrapped. The last time we heard anything about it, they wanted to focus on new people. But its been years since we heard anything. So projects probably dead.

When they were promoting this film, they had human shaped cardboard cutouts attached to drones, flying around. Supposedly, it was freaking people out. It's a pretty interesting story.

I gotta say, Morty from Rick and Morty says it best. You should let stories start where they start, not when they get interesting. These spoiler-y intro hook is unnecessary, just say hi, lets watch the video. no "3 weeks earlier" flashbacks or cuts.

If you look closely when the cop shoots Matt you can see that the bullet was meant to hit andrew so which Is why Matt caught it and it explains why his had was bleeding as well. Matt blocked the bullet from killing andrew

Ah, the live action Canadian version of Akira. No, really, loved the transition of the super hero genre into the docu-style filming. Y'all should also check out another superhero film called PUSH. Lots of fun with that one.

If you want another unique superhero film, I highly recommend *The Specials* from 2000. It was written by James Gunn and is a fantastic rarity. Very positive and funny.
