If you want to learn about nature then Seek is the app for you! It is part of iNaturalist and it is completely free! It is simple and a lot of fun to use. Point your phone camera at the plant, insect, animals or any thing in nature and it will identify it for you. The best part? You can level up based on how many species you identify. You can also complete challenges and earn badges. Check it out!

You had mentioned to me to add this app a couple weeks ago. And I did. I’m so glad you made this video showing how to use it. Love all your pics and videos. I have a cute story to share with you. When my Son was in Kindergarten we were waiting for the school bus. He looked down and saw a slug. I had no idea what kind of slug it is. I have a New England nature guide book that helped me ID the slug as a Leopard Slug. My Son (who is now 28 years old) was so excited and asked if we could keep it. We set up a nice tank for it and read about what they eat and what they need. We found a couple more. My Son loved them. One he named Slimy. LOL. One night one slug got out of the tank. My Son was so sad,, when I turned the light on we could see trails of slug slime in him room. We followed it and found the slug was in a pair of jeans. LOL. My Husband had to go to Oregon for a work trip. We had read about Banana Slugs. My Son asked his Dad if he could bring him one back. He was in Oregon for a week and every night would call and my son asked Daddy did you find a slug? He had done lots of exploring on the weekend and had hoped to find a slug. Sadly none. When he returned the rental car he found one on the pavement. He had a plastic container,, he put grass dirt and couple drops of water and placed the slug in the container. This slug flew from Oregon to Boston. When my Husband got home. (BTW his name is Chris too) he gave the banana slug to our Son (Bryan) he was one happy little boy. This is a memory he cherishes and will never forget. Could you imagine trying to bring a slug now in an airport? I’m sure many would say you should not bring a critter from one place to another Incase it’s invasive. That I understand. This slug lived a long time a couple of years in the tank. It brought my son so much joy. Well I left a huge comment. Thought you might enjoy our Banana Slug story. Have a great day Nature Friend 🐢🐝🐛 Brenda

What a cool app! Having wildlife ID at your fingertips is so useful out in the bush, and this app makes exploring nature and wildlife so much fun even for people who don’t love it intrinsically like we do! Thank you so much for sharing Chris, I already have the app downloaded!

Hey. I have learned to have a lot of fun with this app. A lot of the time, I just use it to rank up - lol. Some things, it might be completely wrong about. I told me a leaf was a butterfly the other day.

Appreciate this tip Chris! Native plant ID is my strength but this app can help me fill in the blanks when I have no idea. Thank you so very much!

Awesome, thanks. I try to shoot a lot of things I see just to rank up, lol. My weak point are the mushrooms and fungi. And some plants.

Could have been deer. I listen for jays when hunting, they often complain like that when deer or turkey bump them off a food source they're using.

Too bad we can only like a video!!! One thing I lack in as an outdoorsman is plant identification. So I've been looking for an app like this!!! Great videos! My son came right down stairs this morning and asked to watch "the amphibian guy" first video he watched with me was your amphibian challenge!

I actually have the iNaturalist app, which seems like the original version of this app I’m guessing? But my biology teacher at the time actually told me about it which was pretty cool! And the funny thing is I actually did try and identify some scat with the app xD if I remember correctly it did work! It was coyote scat. But it’s the perfect idea for an app!
