I love this band and have for almost 20 years! I just say, as much as I can appreciate the talent of Rashawn & Jeff, nobody and I mean no one can replace the beauty and talent of Le'Roi and his horns! Le'roi is truly missed! Irreplaceable!

One of my favorite live songs from my favorite band. The composition and musicianship just amazes me, and as a drummer, well, Carter inspires me more than anyone else. Awesome DMB!

Lol people talk about them over playing and "not letting the music breath". Have you noticed how most of the time they change up their songs in little aspects? That's because this isn't just a concert for these guys, it's a jam session. They play this music because they love to play with each other. They're not looking to please everyone and worry about if they're "overplaying". Appreciate the music and stop criticizing. If you can do better then go ahead.
@Bri-ok3dr7 жыл бұрын
John Hagan over playing no they changed it up a lot this band has changed my life I'm a drummer and I worship the ground kind of walks on basically he's amazing and the way they can just piece together a song even in concert which I've seen them like 35 times it's just amazing. People who don't get them say oh Carter just is too busy or you know they just love to just jam and solo but it's so much more than that they're amazing

Agree with you all there is nothing at all wrong with there paths they are unbelievable as a professional drummer in the 1960s I love the subtle ways they change in and out of a song this is what creativity and in the moment is all about. Carter is amazing timing changes fill changes comes as he feels them within the song doesn't change the the song allows it to breathe and grow with each different night feeling of the moment etc agree with you all 100%!!!!!!!!!

i agree with you that Le'roi will forever be the heart and soul of this band and will forever be missed, but Rashawn and Jeff bring such a dynamic sound to the band. also they bring an energy that leroi never really did. I love everything this band was in the past, is in the present and will be in the future!

Sex. That much is true. So much to say like. Our first, p[hysical love. We were both evil and innocent; instead we will (may) all find our lives swept away (seek up that emotion) is your cup still overflowing? or kept at bay.... straight not ... anyway now look around around you in fancy car and bank account which only you can take to your grave... do you save and save will you bother to even dig my grave.... like brother. Do you know the other David hung from a tree? John has no need for electricity or hot water here in Soweto. He has a broken back. Your guitar teacher cannot play his instrument from one final spinal crack. Fall back again.... That big monster never fought any wars for you, but you did seek him both in love and desire. PR rejection, personal deception. I crashed in to you as yopu did me. We were one. We were three. Crashing in to a fractured soul both your destiny, intended innaccessibility, invisibilty of celebrity. I have crashed into you and it was good, that you know. As it was it ever shall be as I depart this mortal coil. Forgive them as they know not what they do. I can only imagine. You. In truth, who is that big monster who fights your wars for you - same one who made love with you, crashed in and figure- fingered you all the way up the fine polished mahogany fretboard... fear not. Mortality is nigh. on I. Welcome my friend to the machine. Where have you been? Love, uthando wami. uzosala ezulweni, nami nenkosi lethu. David J Douglas love you too. f. sensing a red light here.... this Devil's not going anywhere, Sex is that emotion. Seek up.

Yes...yes it is. And live... Carter tends to overplay. If you want to talk about respect...let's talk about how Beauford is stepping all over the other musicians. Let's talk about how he feels the need to fill every sonic void with some sort of percussive noise, rather than letting the music breath. Let's talk about all the dig-me licks.
@hotman71812 жыл бұрын
Damn talk about dragging it out. Way too long.
@VictoriousSecret2410 жыл бұрын
Carter overplays?!?!?!? Ridiculous!!! Every musician in DMB plays numerous solos and standout notes in many of their songs. And btw, when you're one of the best drummers in the world, why would u want to suppress his talent?

As a die hard DMB fan, I don't like a few routes the band took these past few years. First is Boyd's violin that he started using in 2009? His old one sounded much better (the one used in the central park concert). Also, Carter's drum set has had huge changes, he got rid of the China stack on his far right, he is now using coated toms, which i don't like (I think the best toms he had were the clear head ones used at The Gorge (2002). Most importantly, bring back Butch Taylor, and resurrect Roi
