To tears.. My parents and ancestors- are from Semey and have witnessed the horrors of nuclear testing themselves. It is heartbreaking. So many broken lives; my family(my mom, too) and relatives who were born and raised in Semey are still struggling with severe headaches and other illnesses as they would play in the steppes seeing the nuclear fog unaware it was dangerous. It is insane. The message of this TedTalk is so powerful and so important. We, Kazakhstanis, have been through so much but the pain and the heartbreaking historical events as such... I wish we can learn from them and grow as well. Grow through the pain and loss. Grow from the pain and loss. Let's not get so frivolous. Kazakhs do not hate Russians. It is the people, not the nationalities that do harm. There are wonderful Russian people out there, in Kazakhstan too. And I am Kazakh; I know many many beautiful Russian people. So, stop the hate, please; as it is not the point or the message of this important TedTalk and has nothing to do with it.

@@epiqz1 I know. I get it. But NOT all the Russians are "bad". There are "bad" people among Kazakhs, among any nation. I wish we would stop generalizing.

My Kazakh bf is the biggest Russian lover ever. He's so pro Russia we can't even have discussions about Russia because he gets highly offended. Especially when I tell him about issues like these.
