The call to your dad really touched home base for me. My dad is my hunting buddy and we havent missed an opening day gun hunt since he got me into hunting. This year he wont be joining me as hes battling lung cancer and just isnt healthy enough rightnow to be hunting. Cherish these moment's. Even though my dad is a best case scenario for having lung cancer you cant take these moments for granite. Awesome video and these guys are an awesome addition to the channel. Wouldnt expect anything less from a standup guy like Lee to have these guys around

Why do y’all use saddle, set ups and never climbing stands?

I'm gonna guess it's just because the saddle setups are better in almost every way. I'd like to be clear I have no intention of being rude or trash talking. I've been using a climber, hang ons, home-built stands and 2-man ladder stands since I started hunting deer 24 years ago. 3 weeks ago, I got a saddle on a good trade deal, nothing special. It's like the cheapest TETHRD saddle, and I got a home-built platform made out of a seat from an old hang-on, and I made my own climbing sticks. I can tell you in all honesty, I will never get back in a climber stand ever again. I had a Summit Viper SD and after my first 2 hunts in the saddle, I knew it might as well be junk to me now and it's time to sell it. Which I did. The saddle is just superior to the climber in every way I can think of. I killed a nice 4.5y/o 9pt 2 weeks ago, in the national forest, and I don't think it would have happened if I was in my climber, because a doe had me busted but because I was in the saddle, I was able to hide from her on the other side of the tree. That's something I could not have done in a climber. Not to mention the saddle is way less bulky and doesn't require a bunch of trimming on your way up the tree. Hope this helps. Also, I heard if you're over 240lbs the saddle starts to get uncomfortable, which I can imagine. I weigh 190 and have no issues though.
