I used to worry that if I passed away my husband wouldn't know how to take care of our 1/2 acre yard and 123 year old house and all its quirks. After I told him that he replied, "oh if you're gone, we're selling the house and moving into a condo!" That actually made me feel much better 😂

Mindy, you should look up "apple crumble" - very popular in UK, but in other parts of Europe too. It's basically the apples that you did, except you put them in a baking tray (without much sugar) and top with a sand-like mixture of sugar, flour and butter. This caramelizes on top of the apples during the baking process and gives the apples a sweet crunch. It goes amazing with ice cream or just cream or custard poured over on top as well! Your family should try that!
@kristinburke58493 күн бұрын
We have that in the US too. Particularly popular in the northeast.

I appreciate you discussing your corrections. As Chef Geoffrey Zakarian says "you can always eat your mistakes." And I believe that to a point. But I have learned that pretty much anything can be edible by adding enough of one or more of the following: salt, pepper, hot sauce, salsa, bacon bits, ranch dressing, or cheese lol Newer rotations in our house: Top some banana with a few tbsp of yogurt and granola/oats. Add some broken up chocolate for an extra treat. It can be breakfast, a dessert, or a snack. Turkey, sharp cheddar, and green apple sandwiches Chicken with pasta, pesto, zucchini, broccoli, parm cheese Romaine, steak, pear, and bleu cheese salad with balsamic vinaigrette Sticky chicken - toss a jar of mango chutney and red pepper flakes in a baking dish, add drumsticks, and bake at 350 for an hour or so. Serve alongside cilantro lime rice with tomato.

good stuff Mindy, thanks for another great video! I can't help but wonder if these dinners wouldn't be a better value if the budget was considered in the context of the rest of the week; e.g. if i was actually doing this, I wouldn't buy a 1lb bag of carrots, I'd go to Aldi where I can get a 2lb bag for $1.50, then my other lb of carrots can get eaten for lunches. and I can also get those apples cheaper in a sack and the extra apples are tasty for snacks, breakfast etc.
