I always get so happy when I see you’ve got a new video up. What would I have done differently. 😅 Oh, SO much. But here are a few. 1. I’d have taken high school more seriously and worked harder toward better grades so college and scholarships would have been an option for me early on. 2. I wish I had been taught to value my own self worth when I was younger. I’ve always struggled with very low self esteem, so it’s always been easy for other people to tell me how to feel about myself. I’ve always been easily manipulated, I would say, and sadly I still am though not quite as much. But that’s more of a regret that I wish my mom would have worked harder at, but alas… 3. I wish I would have gotten mental health help sooner in my life. I wish I would have been honest with myself about what I noticed was happening to me over the years and how it was affecting my family and sought treatment. My life and the lives of my family could have had happier earlier years. 4. I wish I would have been more present in the simple moments when my oldest was younger. I worked full time and missed so much of his young years because I had to, and when I was home, I was so tired that I didn’t give him the attention he deserved. I regret that a lot. Maybe if I had been more present, things in his past would have tuned out better.

Thank you so much for being so open, I appreciate you! Being here and the right person for your children is such a hard thing to do and something that I struggle with constantly. It's so hard because we should be the bigger person, the parent but also have no idea how it is done correctly and if "correct" is even the parent the kids need. I especially feel for my oldest as every new stage is a new territory that we navigate together and sometimes what we think is right or best for them turns out to be wrong.

What a beautiful ink color! It's always interesting to hear about other countries educational systems and their matriculation. I had a professor from Germany and he mentioned how lucky we were to get quarterly exams instead of a GIANT exam at the end of uni.
@seemownay2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is definitely a plus, but not all parts work that way. When I studied architecture, we had exams after every semester. One thing that speaks for Germany's education system is that it is generally free.

I have just discovered this video. What an awesome way to fully enjoy the inks that you have. I am inspired to embark on my own fp ink journey. Many thanks 😊

Gorgeous color! I'm so tempted to add it to my ink collection. Also, I loved seeing your cat try to participate!

Thank you! 😊 And you should definitely add this color to your collection!

One of my favorite colours! Love the alt Bordeaux (also rohrer and klinger) even more😍

I have a sample of that ink. I'll need to use it soon to see how it compares to the other bordeaux/purples I have.

On the spectrum of university choices, I had opportunities to pursue engineer paths that would have led to a lucrative tech career, but held steadfast to my degree that I obtained in my 20s. Made my peace, too, and learned that in life, sometimes it is better to stick to easier pursuits than challenging ones.

Yeah, I am currently quite happy with how my life is going.

I've been sleeping on this ink and I don't know why. I like it a lot. Very thought provoking. I think at the very top of the list, I would have traveled extensively /perhaps lived abroad when I had the opportunity before I had kids.

Thanks for sharing! It's an interesting thought for sure. You totally should get the ink though!

I've been seeing Altgoldgrun everywhere lately! I first saw it in one of your videos and now I'm seeing it in a bunch of videos. I just ordered from Goulet Pens and got a sample for myself.
@seemownay2 жыл бұрын
I hope you like it! It seems to be quite dry judging from the comments but I don't have a big problem with it.

I bought this ink because I was searching for the perfect olive green...and I was really disappointed because it DID seem very dry. Now, as I'm a bit more experienced, I realize the pen can have a lot to do with the performance of the ink. I used this in a Lamy pen, with a fine nib. POOR pairing. So...I'll have to get this ink out again and give it a try with one of my TWSBI medium or stub nibs and see how it does there. Your sampling looks wonderful! Three things: 1) I would have paid better attention to my health and fitness because not doing so has come to affect me in my older years. 2) I would have worked (part-time) while my children were young. I think some of us parents don't realize that adult interactions and accomplishments are important and I know I missed those since I was a stay-at-home mom. 3) I would have spoken more to my parents about their younger lives, because now they are gone and I have questions that will never be answered. You're right...these things are personal, but maybe they might be interesting or useful to someone else.

Thank you so much for sharing your three things. Yes, to all three of your things. I am struggling with my back a lot after three pregnancies and if I had had better back muscles going into them, I probably wouldn't suffer as much as I do now. I have heard from several sources who even consider the TWSBI to be a dry pen, but if you put it into a broader nib the Altgoldgrün might work nicely.

I love that colour! I might have to get a sample. The things I would do differently: 1. I wouldn’t take up smoking, huge regrets there. 2. I hurt someone very badly about 20 years ago, I would definitely take that back. 3. I would, if possible, learn I was autistic much earlier. I was diagnosed at 33 and knowing has changed my life, entirely for the better. I’d learn of it from 18 onwards, if I could. Might help undo huge amounts of trauma sooner.

I want to write with my fountain pen with the Lilly color, but it is dark directly from the bottle, do you know if it is possible to lighten the color tone with water or something without ruining the pen? Thank you.
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
It will change the properties of the ink - yes, it will be lighter and in the best case scenario nothing else. But in the worst case scenario would be that the ink will come out of your pen too wet, might feather and bleed through. You will most likely not ruin the pen, so why don't you just try and experiment.
@karma136122 жыл бұрын
Yea, in regular fountain pens, not a dip pen, the ink was very dry. I have it in my TWSBI Mini with a rosegold nib. It was dry.
@seemownay2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your comment, Christina - even though my reply is pretty late, I wanted to say that I have not experienced Altgoldgrün to be a dry ink. It is also listed and recommended by Goulet Pens as a wet ink.
@karma136122 жыл бұрын
@@seemownay wow!! Interesting! I’ll have to try it in another pen and nib then!!

Hi there - can you tell me, is the ink bottle itself glass? And the metal lid, is there any plastic disc that sits inside the lid? Is this bottle plastic free? Thank you for your detailed video.
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
Yes, the bottle itself is glass, the lid is (I assume) made from aluminum but there is a liner inside the cap that has some sort of plastic. I don't think you'll find an ink bottle that is completely plastic free because the bottle needs to seal properly.
@tky2289 Жыл бұрын
@@seemownay thank you very much for replying with the details. Yes, it is EXTREMELY difficult to find ink and pens that are plastic free - so, I’m also looking into reed pens and sumi ink stick (it’s just that the ink takes a while to dry, not so practical for everyday use). All the best to you!

Before you even mentioned it, I was writing about how I wish I would have taken a gap year before starting university. I was an Honors student my entire education, so it wasn't really an option to take a year off. I ended up spending 5.5 years between 2 schools and 4 courses of study. If I'd just paused for a moment, I may have spent less time grasping for direction.
@seemownay2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing! I am definitely not mad about the experiences I gained but I would have loved more direction and knowing what I was working towards.
@karma136122 жыл бұрын
“Alt” generally means ‘alternative”.
@seemownay2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that might be true if you are talking about the English meaning. However, Altgoldgrün is a German word and alt means old in German.

Why do all pets suddenly become interested in us when there’s an open ink bottle or a journal open to write on? I’m convinced this is not my imagination.

I have no idea, but my cats always participate actively in the video productions.
