There was no audible creaking on the track. You got sample of one with that issue, which means that very probably there is no problem.

You could maybe squeak out a tiny bit more performance if you configured the new version with Weissach package but that would only be noticeable on track. Otherwise, with this .2, Porsche has pretty much only addressed common annoyances with the .1, IMO.

Actually that's not what he said. The performance is obviously better, especially since they fixed a lot of the issues the .1 had in suspension, gearing, or steering (for most people). But if I had the .1 I would rather wonder, if I can get the .2 upgrades for my car and what that would cost me instead of buying the new one.

Honestly they don’t look that understated anymore, even the touring, it’s really wide, low, the bigger bumpers, sound, massive wheels. It’s quite fancy looking in person. Catches my attention as quickly as any other exotic, exception some neon green lambo. Old 997 gt3 looked a lot more understated.

the Ferrari 296 has the same creaking problem with the XL carbon bucket seats because they scrape on the middle console, it's insane that a manufacturers like Porsche or Ferrari develop a car like that and then don't notice the seat creaking around

Porsche must be kicking themselves letting that seat creak like that in all these videos. They will sell out anyway, but not a great look and the GT3 is the dream.

That’ll get sorted out. Pre-production cars will always have their flaws. 992.1 had a ton of panel gap issues at launch that were fixed.

When I saw these new foldable carbon buckets, I was like oh no. Definitely a downgrade in performance from the monocoque carbon buckets of the .1 GT3. The only situation I see being worth it is in the new GT3 touring configured with rear seats. Other than that, it’s pointless IMO. The removable headrest padding is a nice feature though.

I don’t agree with you regarding the old vs new buckets. I think the older one look better and getting into them is not really a problem as long as you use your hand on the sill to push your button above the lip and into the seat. The fact that they tilt forwards is fine, but if you have a cage its of no difference. The headrest off function is silly as the flat cushion on the old seat doesn’t make you go forward and now your helmet will scratch against some hard plastic in stead. So “plus ca change plus c’est la meme chose” as they say in France. Good review !

I Ditto appreciate the back seat camera POV with narration. You could really feel the car caress through the gears and take the corners as if you were in the back seat. Excellent camera craft. Not a view point many KZbin reviewers use. Good work Sam. 👌🏾

God, Sam. Since the 4C you’ve become so much refined. The photography, the narrative, the audio, immersion… I find myself taking screenshots to use as wallpapers, you should make some as downloadable content. Fanboying a bit but man I always appreciate when people just do a damn good job. And I DONT KNOW if you noticed when editing but you actually make the GT3 sing a melody with the music from 16:02 onwards. This is peak and actually got me emotional.

Yes, you are quite right saying the squeaking buckets are inadmissible. That said, the car is simply awesome, be it the Touring version with the manual box or the winged car with PDK and Weissach Pack. The great thing about 911ses in general and the GT3s in particular, is that you can customize them from the factory to your own liking as long as you are ready to pay the bill. I’m lucky to be in for the new Touring with the 6 speed box and a few other niceties. I don’t intend to do track days with it, but rather go on road trips. It will be my first GT3 (but 3rd 911). Really looking forward to it 👌

I’m not sure how good the 8% shorter gear ratio will be for touring, I find my 992.1 manual a bit buzzy and here in Canada max speed limits are generally 100 kph.

I drove a 992.2 Carrera S with a PDK gearbox at the Porsche Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone last week and having been luckily enough to own several manual 911's, I can say for me this is the sweet spot of a 911, It was comfortable, the handing was so balanced and as for the engine, 450bhp was all I could ever want on a UK road and the noise from the upshifts and downshifts was addictive. I asked a number of the Porsche driving instructors what would be there perfect Porsche and they all said a Porsche 992.1 Turbo S.

People making a big deal of the folding bucket seats... Have you all forgotten the bucket seats you could choose in any 911 before the 918 spyder seats? Those were the best in the market, and were foldable... Also, these bucket seat can only be ordered in black. Not compatible with exclusive interior in any other color... according to the configurator.

I have watched all the .2 content, and it seems like the creaky seats were very bad in that silver touring. The same issue was in the Hagerty review. Did you experience the creaky buckets in every car? Do you think its guaranteed to happen over time? Great to see a .1 owners opinion on the .2. Thx for the great content.

The ONLY want would probably be the 8% lower gearing on my 992.1. Visually I prefer current car, especially the rear and I suspect the RS variant may stay as it is. Loss of analog tacho is a biggie for me

I'm definitely keeping my 991.2 GT3 CS Manual , but am interested to know if the lower final drive can be retro fitted to my gearbox as it will definitely benefit the car on Uk roads . Great question. Also need to see if that s/t suspension upgrade was worth it. Personally think the p zero corsas make the 992.1 fine for the road. I’ve sat in a pdk car with Michelin cups and felt the ride was very harsh

ST suspension is well worth it makes the car far more compliant on uk roads especially if you have an early car. Did a review on KZbin about our experience, search Litchfield ST GT3 upgrade 👍🏁

Uk road tax has got so insane people like Sam are going to have to start including it. What would you be cost of the Car plus £5k road tax - Vat. Great car but these things are just getting too expensive to buy new and depreciation like a brick on cars these days.

The way it's going people won't be buying cars from factory soon. Or even getting them on a PCP/ lease. For the amount of money you have to put down on one, then tax it, then insure it before all the other costs of running and maintaining it. Not to mention the depreciation of them is shocking these days. Half the price in 12-18 months! (Not for this particular car but most)
