The Three Idiots take on their hardest challenge yet... The Shadow Dragons. Let me take you behind the curtain for a bit - so the way these raids work is; one of us has an idea, and we just have Levi put it together for us. This one, was my idea. I came up with all the moves, and all the adjustments... And lets just say, I may have made it too tough LMAO.

Originally, the difficulty of finding and assembling all 7 Dragon Balls meant that they had plenty of time to disperse the negative power accumulated from each wish, but increasingly advanced technology (such as the Dragon Radar) made finding the artifacts a simple task. Moreover, a seemingly-endless succession of powerful evildeors forced the defenders of Earth to use the Dragon Balls just to repair the damage done to the planet Earth and its people. Consequently, the balls had less and less time to disperse the slowly-immersing negative energy, causing a large amount of it to build up in the magic orbs. When the Dragon Balls could take no more, they soon cracked. Upon attempting to summon the Eternal Dragon Shenron, however, Goku and the others unknowingly released the negative energy in the form of a gigantic dark dragon named Black Smoke Shenron, Shenron's polar opposite before he immediately separated into the seven dreaded Shadow Dragons who each is taking form around one Dragon Ball.

The Evil Dragons, known as Shadow Dragons in the Funimation Dub are a group that act as the overarching antagonistic race in the Dragon Ball anime trilogy and the last main villains of Dragon Ball GT, being the titular main antagonists of the Shadow Dragon Saga. They are seven dragons that resulted from overuse of the Dragon Balls and were created from the negative energy of various wishes made by the characters throughout the Dragon Ball series.

Also, the juxtaposition of Seereax slowly descending to Earth peacefully and Doto just crashing down to Earth killed me, lol. These raid videos are always fun, though I hope we don't see it become too repetitive and derivative with massive AoE's and perma-kill mechanics in every raid (at least this one and the Ginyu Force raid don't seem to have had a perma-kill mechanic?)

if I understand it correctly, the dragon balls have the ability to split "nothing" into positive energy and negative energy. Whenever a wish is made, they use the positive energy to make the wish happen and store the negative energy, releasing it slowly and harmlessly. The shadow dragons are what happens when they go over the storage limit, which can only happen if you use them really often.

Well to clarify, the dragonballs are only supposed to be sought out once every 100 years as when a wish is made it creates negative energy that is captured inside the balls and ideally take about a century to harmlessly disperse but because Bulma made it so that finding the balls became routine they never had a chance to disperse the accumulated negative energy and the more selfless the wish, the bigger buildup of negative energy.

I will be the nerd and explain the shadow dragons. So according to GT, the reason the Dragonballs disperse after every wish is to vent all of the negative energy after a wish, the bigger the wish the more negative energy would build up. They'd scatter far and wide across the planet which normally would give them years and years to vent before someone managed to gather them again. However, due to Bulma making the dragon radar and the fact that the Z-Fighters can fly and the constant stream of incoming threats coming to earth meant they had to keep repeatedly using them with a relatively short span of time in between wishes. Each wish they made over the span of all of dragon ball up to the Buu saga accumulated so much negative energy that the dragonballs came to life, first appearing as black smoke shenron before he separated after pilaf wished goku back into a child, then once split became the Shadow Dragons. Each Dragon was based on a wish made by the Z-Fighters over the years, and the more large the wish was the stronger it's dragon was. Someone like Syn shenron (omega) was extremely powerful, as he was created from the wish to revive everyone killed by frieza and his men. Oceanus shenron however wasn't quite as strong as she was created by Oolong's wish for panties. When their bodies are destroyed they revert back into normal dragonballs, though seemingly they could become shadow dragons again if given enough time to recuperate.

Basically the concept of the Shadow Dragons is they were born from the overusage of the Dragon Balls and after each consecutive wish was made negative energy started building up within them and all of the build up started to make them crack and once they couldn't hold in anymore negative energy the energy released from the balls resulting in the Black Smoke Dragon (a.k.a. Black Smoke Shenron) who then split into 7 of the shadow dragons (Evil Dragons Jp.)

Actually the gt dragons were a combination of evil spririt energy and shenrons capabilities. They served as an allegoary for the retribution onto those who abuse their powers. In this case, the z warriors had continually utilised their strength for their own personal needs, abusing the possibility of others using shenrons ability to end world hunger or bring about world peace. If you choose not to respect the lore, thwn you're misconstruing the writers intentions of what gt was supposed to be Deion
