Don't have my PS5 yet, but have been running the ones with friends at their place. And so far thinking Z Broly, Kefla, GT Goku, and practically every Future Trunks will be my most used.

I haven't played this but I can see the difference between players like the Z rank Blue Goku guy and the knuckle dragging apes with the strongest characters. It's insane. That guy looked like he was actually fighting you. The fusions and UI look like they get beat up but have built in win buttons. They should probably give them all or at least most the same health in the 1v1 mode.

The skill difference lies in how they/you get your damage. Good players will have melee attacks and combos taking up most of their damage output whilst the cheesers just want to watch the same anime cutscene 1000 times a day and barely every hit you with more than 2 or 3 normal attacks and most of the time they're mashing in a panic. It's quite insane just how many people in this fighting game don't actually want to learn how to fight or just seem terrified of actually fighting close up. Most of them use the same 2 or 3 simple button combinations over and over and over again. I don't get how they aren't bored or how they feel no shame 😂

Having to face a million UI Goku's in ranked single battle is the online experience in a nutshell unfortunately. Using a 4 bar HP character in ranked is basically the meta, and I'm pretty sure UI Goku is the only version of Goku with 4 HP bars, and combine that with the fact that Goku is THE most popular Dragonball character, he is bound to be stupidly abundant online. I got downvoted on Reddit for suggesting that every character should have the same amount of HP in single battle and it would 100% solve the character variety issue with single battle. If everyone has the same amount of HP, players won't feel like they're handicapping themselves for choosing a 2 HP bar character, and 4 HP bar characters won't feel like they HAVE to choose them if they want to conquer online. It'll truly solve the character variety problem and would make online so much more fun.

That Z blue goku fight reminded me of a match i had recently with a ssg goku. We were fighting like in an anime battle since i was ssg vegeta. We both won a round, then the final round was intense. We were both at 1 hp. Fights like that i really enjoy. These "high ranks" aren't though since they quit or leave after almost losing.

Bro, I'm far from being a pro, I'm a mere A rank. But I believe sometimes it's worth it to lose a vanish war. Only use a super counter if you guarantee you have more ki to continue the vanish war or you have the skill to keep super countering. If you super counter one time you actually reset the vanish "combo" and you'll take way more damage this way. Sometimes, even if I have more ki I prefer to lose the vanish war and get the ki advantage when my opponet finishes

By the way that combo bug happens when the opponent is using the vanishing assault mid combo which can be seen by their ki going down the best way to counter it is by waiting for the vanishing assault and side stepping behind them

The health balancing thing in 1-on-1s could work But I think you should just earn more points if you win against a high DP character using a low one (and visa versa) that I think would inspire more variety, not break the ideology of the game and not stop people from feeling able to play their mains (so long as they accept it’s a risky choice)

My guy, one key thing I learned to get better is, to stun then swerve behind them. Don’t vanish behind them cause that can be easily countered. When you stun and swerve they have no choice but to use revenge counter. Trust me it will make you better with anyone in the game with this move. I’m pretty sure when your attacks start to miss it can mean that before you started attacking, the position of your opponent changed and nothing happened that realigned your character (like movement) One way to make sure this doesn’t happen is to move slightly before attacking (since moving automatically aligns your character unless you’re a character without flying)
