I prefer leather straps in the winter and then once summer comes, I put them back on the bracelet. I don't dive and I don't give af what anyone else thinks about what strap I have on my watch. Sailcloth, canvas and leather are my favorite.

The great thing about straps is that you can change them out depending on what you are using the watch for. The fact that this looks good on a fkm, leather and bracelet makes this watch very versatile and a great travel watch.

I have a clean conscience with my Seestern 600T. Doxa today is not the manufacturer as the Original in the 60s and the new Doxa Company don‘t describe themselves as a watch manufacturer. The parts are mostly from China, assembled in Switzerland. When you get right down to it, today's doxas are also just clomages of the original. And not much better in quality than Seesterns. In my opinion, the prices are not justified. Stay calm and buy a Seestern :-)

Never heard of or seen a Doxa until I get interested in this watch , yes it’s a very close approximation but would someone who can afford a Doxa buy a Seestern and vice versa ?

I purchased the V3 model recently in the sale for 109 pounds. was pleasantly surprised by the quality. There is no play in the bezel at all of the version I have and the bezel does appear to be a little flatter. It does slip from homage into being a copy in my opinion as there is little to differentiate it from the genuine article.

Thanks for the update on the V3. Will it bother you that it's leaned into copy territory in your mind?. I didn't mind it when I reviewed the V1 as the design was so ubiquitous at one point.

@@thewristwatchnewschannel I don't mind so much as although similar they are still desperate entities. If anything it's a good way of deciding if you'd like the genuine article or not. If I was the genuine brand I might be concerned though cos alot of people might purchase a seestern and never graduate to the genuine brand as the cheaper option ticks most of the boxes especially as it is pretty widely known that the genuine brand is produced in much the same way as a seestern is.

I got the v3 and love it ... I got it on the bracelet and really like it ... Although the Seestern 300T beads of rice bracelet is better. Looks fantastic on that orange fkm rubber strap ... I may need to order one. Makes it a gorgeous summer watch. I do have the Seestern 62mas on a rubber strap so i know how they feel and wear.

Thanks for the review. Like this Doxa homage,, i was looking at your new video about Ipose/Serica watch, i saw there that you were critical about the sapphire on that one. Asked the question if it was sapphire coded because of the meter. Was that the case with this one to, perhaps? I am just about to buy me one and just looking at videos.

Hi thanks for watching. I had quite a few comments advising that it was likely due to a different sapphire being used so still sapphire just a different grade. You can't go wrong with the Seestern it's a great diver and it walks the line well between shorts and t shirt and shirt and trousers I felt comfortable wearing it with either. I've not long taken delivery of a steel bezel version of the SUB600T that I'm changing the hands on for a subscriber and just tested it and it reads very strongly for sapphire. Hope that helps.

I think it makes sense to be a tad smaller, the hour hand. Because when you’re diving the minute hand is the most crucial.

Having a noticeable difference between hands would definitely be needed when diving. Aesthetically, though, they do look better, similar in size.

They just release a version 3 with even bigger hour hand. The minute and second hand are still smaller than the doxa. Also I feel like the dial portion of the face is bigger in the doxa than this one aggravating the sunken dial feeling on the seestern.

I think that if we really thing about it almost EVERYTHING gets homaged and tweaked. Cars, cell phones, computers, sun glasses, clothes, toys, food etc. I think that if it were to cause SERIOUS financial difficulties for the original company it would be an issue (althoufh that hasn't stopped other companies with other products doing it in the past - without the general population being outraged) but i don't think that people in the financial position to buy the original will buy the homage and most who buy the homage can't afford the original and pethaps never will. I think one benefit to an homage is that it can keep the original companies honest and on the mark with regard to quality (qc like alignment and specs like sokid end links and sapphire crystal) and pricing (not over pricing for profit).

I'm in the UK, and UK customs have got an arrangement in place with Aliexpress where custom duties are paid at purchase. Think it added about £20 to the overall cost.

How much did you pay? I've just searched for the info, and it turns out it applies to under £135 only. From 11PM 31 December 2020, AliExpress is required by law to collect UK Value-Added Tax (VAT) at the applicable rate and remit to the UK tax authority when goods are sold to UK customers (i) where the goods are located outside the UK at the point of sale with a consignment value of GBP135 or less, or (ii) where the goods are in the UK at the point of sale, but sold by an overseas seller. Over £135 and the same customs duties can apply being 20% I will say though I've bought watches for more than £135 since the seestern and haven't paid any duties.

I bought the Seestern last week for around 100 Euros. And I haven't noticed any real price increases so far.
