But the most known myth of Aphrodite's birth is this one: "Aphrodite was born from the white foam produced by the severed genitals of Uranus, after his son Cronus threw them into the sea." So she's not related to him, or maybe she count as Uranus' daughter.

I think it is because Eros is a god and he wanted Psyche to love him for his heart and not because he is a god. Maybe it was a test on her soul since she is a mortal. The idea that love is blind. But I agree it is a little selfish of Eros to not let Psyche see him. Psyche's sisters planted doubt in her heart though, harming her and Eros's relationship. Psyche then had to go through a series of tasks to prove her love of him. She's successful and becomes a goddess and the two live happily ever after.

@@danae9190 I may understand the lesson in the end about putting trust in love but how they story was told made it sound as if the lesson is: It's hard to trust someone else if they are never really honest about themselves from the start (That would be Eros never trusting Psyche but just simply wanting her to place blind faith in him when she legitimately knew nothing about him, she never even saw his face) and gods do not see life the same way mortals do. Baucis and Philemon are an old couple who unknowingly welcome a disguised Zeus and Hermes into their home to spend the night, even though they are poor and don't have much. In turn, they are spared from a flood on their town because no one else had treated the gods with kindness and are granted several wishes in return that they use wisely. Eros fell in love with Psyche and decided to disobey his mother's orders. The two eloped and after a series of tragic events, Psyche was granted immortality to live forever by Eros's side. This is crazy af 😂 imagine in 2021 you tell your family “yeah I’m not dead. I’m actually living it up with a man who I’ve never seen. He could walk past me right now and I wouldn’t know it. Plus he blew my back out the first night we met and he’s been doing it ever since. That’s why I didn’t come back sooner”. 😂

This is a pretty good story, as a first factor you have to admire that the god of death falls in love with someone very opposite to him, despite being the god of death he does everything possible to be with her; For her part, Demeter takes action on the matter and punishes humanity for the event, droughts and famines arrive due to the absence of her daughter, to which Zeus responds and demands the release of Persephone, Hades and his great love for her, she takes the seeds that he gives her, since he wanted to be with her, and that is why we know the seasons, the time that Demeter is with her daughter is summer and joy, when she is not there she is consumed in her reiteration and gives us winter and the autumn.

I'm overjoyed to know that Nyx, one of the primordials, did involve in this too. The primordials should play more parts in the myth, the universe took them for granted, you know, they brought orders among chaos and without them, they'd be no worlds at all.
