Great video dude. Here's a tip with fishing circle hooks. Don't pull but rather, start reeling. Wait 5 seconds so the snook can really have the bait in its mouth and then start reeling. the reeling action will help set the hook in the corner of the fish's mouth. When you started to pull it, you most likely kept pulling the hook out of the fish's mouth rather than getting it to catch the corner. That's just my 2 cents. I fish circle hooks exclusively. Wait 5 seconds, start reeling at a moderate pace.

Very impressive. I enjoy the local knowledge of knowing where to look for specific fish.

Your videos get better and better. Nice fish today! I wanna try getting on some fish with live and cut bait, but having lots of trouble netting them. I’ve yet to get the slam. The red always seems to be the one I can’t get. But here’s my KZbin slam: Brent, Justin, and Lawson.

Hi Brent. Great video as always. What depth do you like to see when you're targeting reds and snook under the mangroves with cut bait...at least a couple feet? Just curious your thoughts and opinion on that...also if high tide best when fishing that way?
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
High tide is definitely the best time to use cut bait around mangroves, and typically I'm looking for between 1-3 feet of water at the spot

Love your content! This is awesome! Your page is a great inspiration for my channel! Let me know how my channel could improve if you can!
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! There’s two things I would recommend when making fishing videos: tell a story and be educational. The viewers are watching the video to either learn something new or feel like they’re a part of the action (or both). Also, consistency with your uploads is huge. Develop an upload schedule that works with you and try everything you can to stick to it. If you can do those three things, your channel will grow. Good luck!

Just curious if you have any of the St. Croix 7’s? If so do you see any difference in them vs. the 7’6”. Thinking about investing in better equipment.
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
I do not have any 7' spinning rods, I personally like the feel and castability of a 7' 6" rod more than a 7'

How do you have your setup for free lining bait, and your lure setup
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
For the free line I used 2' of 30# fluoro and a 2/0 circle hook. I then nose hooked the bait. I cut off the hook and tied on the lure using the same leader. All of this was on my 3000 Penn Clash on my 7' 6" St. Croix Mojo Inhsore Medium-Light Action rod

Question, why put a leader on instead of going with straight hook and line?
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
I use braided line on my reels and braid is extremely visible in the water compared to fluorocarbon or monofilament. I tie on a section of leader to reduce the chance of the fish getting spooked from seeing the line. Also, leader material is more abrasion resistant than braid, which is good when fishing around structure or for fish (like snook) that have abrasive mouths
