Hey Everyone. APOLOGIES for the sound, This was my first major edited video as am still a newbie on KZbin, and I was not expecting this video to blow up as it has, and therefore understandably I am not wanting to lose all those views by taking the video down and having to reupload it with fixed volume. I only have a little laptop and I didn't realise how bad the balance was when i was previewing it. I do intend to make a follow up to this with all mentioned titles, and that will have fixed audio. Thanks for your comments and suggestions to this end.

Kinda late to the party here but Outrun 2006 got pulled from Steam in the early 2010's because of the Ferrari licensing, they'd have to pay for the licensing again.

I would totally love to see F355 Challenge on modern consoles but that one would be even harder to re-license than even OutRun 2 since, not only would Sega have to pay again for the very expensive Ferrari license as with OutRun 2 (and, make no mistake, OutRun 2 without Ferrari would be soulless), Sega would also have to pay to relicense all of the real-world racing circuits featured in the game. At least OutRun 2 is only set on fictional point-to-point stages so re-licensing Ferrari would be the only hurdle.

@@chinito77 I think at the time only a bad conversion would be done on the Saturn. Since then SEGAs marketing was the ruin of Sega. They made the most innovative and best arcade sim games. Daytonaaaaaaaaaaa! 🤭

Adding to these, Indy 500, Manx TT Superbike, Sega Super GT, Daytona USA 2, Ferrari F355 Challenge, and OutRun 2006. That would be absolute perfection. Quick thing about the audio mixing, the audio on the transition between games was much, much louder than the rest of the video.

Well Daytona and VR have had flawless home releases but I agree on the others. A collection would be nice but there are so many more I'd want lol! I'd pay 100 bucks for a nice collection of 20 sega racing arcade games from the outrun era onwards.

If we are going to do a Sega Arcade Racer Collection, along with the titles already mentioned you might as well included all of the major titles: -Turbo, One of Sega's first racers to try and simulate a 3D scaling environment -Enduro Racer, one of their early superscalars, this game has never seen a proper home conversion - Power Drift, Sega's take on the go kart racer. - Gale Racer/Rad Mobile, one of their last Super scalar racers before switching to polygons for good - Sega Super GT/Scud Race, a title that got stuck in the arcade due to licensing. - Ferrari F355 Challenge, in perfect circumstances the Ferrari license would be a non issue. - Outrun 2/SP/2006, as with F355 Challenge the Ferrari license would be a non issue. - Initial D Arcade Stage 4, anime inspired racer - Star Wars : Racer Arcade, Sega produced it (see perfect circumstances above and include the Star Wars license) - Crazy Taxi, not a racer in the traditional sense but you do race around town against the clock -F-Zero AX, Sega brought to life both the arcade and Gamecube (GX) version of this Nintendo franchise, maybe include it as a hidden/unlockable option (again all license holders being on board).

Agree 100%. I've thought about putting together SEGA racing PC for my living room. Containing every good SEGA racer from Outrun/Super Hang-On to SEGA Race TV. With a snazzy selection screen. Just haven't got the time to configure it all etc... oh well someday. I'm already enjoying Model 2/3, Teknoparrot emulators on my main PC etc.. so I'm good.

Superb video Matt! I have every Sega console ever released (My fave being the Dreamcast) But I now play Model 2 Sega Rally (to name just one) on an emulator upscaled to 4k... My 9 year-old gaming pc plays Sega Model 2 and 3 games effortlessly Also, I spent £5.00 on the 'Redream' emulator, which scales Dreamcast games up to 4k I grabbed an absolute bargain on a huge 75" 4k LCD (£579.00) from 'Electronic World' in Birmingham... They sell graded-stock with excellent pics, so you can make an informed purchase... Please note: I am in no way affiliated with them, I just wanted to share where I got a bargain) Bye

Sega should sell a mini console called the Sega Dream Station and sell it for 150 bucks with just enough power to emulate it's entire library up to Dreamcast/Naomi/Model 3(2.5ghz dual core) with a 256gb-512gb internal hard disk/flash drive and sell it's entire library of console and arcade games through a webstore like PSN. It would have it's own standard controller but would also work with usb or wireless retro controllers for all the old systems. It would also be pre loaded with 1-2 games for each of the systems or they could give a voucher that could get you a few games for free on the service. Master System 2 dollars per game, Genesis/32x/CD 5 dollars per game, Saturn 5-10 dollars per game depending on title, Dreamcast 5-10 dollars, System 16-32/Titan/Model 1-3/Naomi titles 5-20 dollars. Break even on hardware make a fortune selling old software.

Great idea, they do really need to expand their repertoire rather than just seeing the same old genesis titles its crazy that the Saturn and Dreamcast libraries have been pretty much left untouched. Or even if they forego the physical console and have it online like the Capcom Collection where you can purchase packs of like saturn or coin op classics individually or a bundle all inside a virtual Sega World!

The mini console would appeal to the casual gamer more though and I think that's where the real audience is or could be. They should probably start it as a pc app then after making money do the mini console for the casual buyers.

I'd love to see Waverunner as well, but my most favourite Sega Racing game after Sega Rally 1&2 is missing : Scud Race, this is way better than Daytona imo. Similar handling but much better graphics, imagine a mix of Daytona and Ridge Racer= Scud Race.

Nice thought. But as you mention early in the video, Sega likes to release the same titles over and over again while having a huge back catalog they do nothing with. I’m sure we would get the likes of Daytona and Outrun, but I already have multiple copies of those. What I want is the “Obscure Sega Racers that we’ve never rereleased” collection.

I'd love to see this, and find it weird that despite having a back catalogue the equals or betters every other company in the gaming industry (arcade, console or computer). I'd love to see modern ports or even remakes of Outrun, Daytona, Sega Rally, VirtuaRacing. In fact, ALL the Sega Racing games. Even Powerdrift could be fun. I'd also like to a remake or remaster of Space Harrier. It's still a fun game, even without the motion cabinet.

You are right. Sega Rally cabinets really were everywhere. I played the one in the Refectory area of Leeds University back in the day. Down in a little snug area. Happy days. I wasn't even a student. I just worked there.

Emergency Call Ambulance 3. Daytona USA 2 4. Dirt Devils 5. Harley Davidson and LA Riders 6. LeMans 24 Hours 7. Super GT 24 Hours 8. Indy 500 9. Over-Rev 10. Sega Touring Car Championship 11. Daytona has been ported a few times now and had an Arcade perfect release on 360 & PS3 (sadly delisted a few weeks ago at the time of writing). I'm more interested in seeing stuff that never came home like Daytona USA 2, SCUD Race/Sega Super GT or Sega Race TV (Yu Suzuki Gameworks Vol. 2 when? Or perhaps AM2's last real arcade racer (R:Tuned) while we're at it

Ibe bought many of these already a group collection would be nice. I even have a lot of these on nintendo 3ds however....sega lost the ferrari licence so rewrites are needed even just to remove the badges and names. I agree though that even with so many of these having 90s relesses a group collection would be good and not individual xbox live type editions. Something like the atari 50th collection is more like it but for racers :-)

I've been saying this for years but Sega have their guns stuck to Sonic in everything. It's about time Namco released a Ridge Racer, Rave Racer and Rage racer arcade collection. My money is waiting for the day if either Sega or Namco ever release their Racer collections. Honestly, it’s mostly due to licenses that some of these games can’t be rereleased on modern consoles. Daytona USA, Sega Scud Race and Sega Rally are all based on real life racing competition and because of this they would need to renegotiate the rights to release these games on modern consoles… unless they pulled out a Sega Racing Classic and released them without references to them.

Sadly, the XBLA version of Daytona USA HD has been removed from Xbox digital storefronts, so the only way to play it now is by emulating it on either RPCS3 or Xenia. Unless of course you purchased it before it was taken off. I hate the fact that they never ported that version to PC and released it on Steam. It's baffling to me. It's the only version of Daytona that has online play.

Sega needs to look into partnering up with a digital storefront, retrobit and perhaps developers that can dive into fpga production for them Sell fpga hardware with profit margin built in to avoid wasting money on security r&d. Sell cheaper hardware that uses software emulation. Sell dev tools and licenses for homebrew developers to build games to sell on digital storefront.

Thank you for the constructive feedback, it is genuinely appreciated. May I ask if you were listening with headphones or speakers? This has been my first self made and edited video, and whilst i was looking for an equalizer I couldnt find one in time. I am certainly hoping to correct this for the future though, so thanks for pointing it out.

@@mattotterpop Hmmm. Not sure how you edit your videos, but you should be able to easily push up or down specific parts of the audio track without the need of an equaliser, as they are used to change the tonal quality in regard to frequency response, not the dB level of an audio track. The main issue with the audio was that the actual levels kept changing. You can use a software compressor to even out your levels out, but as I previously said, you shouldn't have to do this. BTW, I was listening via TV speakers.
