God I LOVE Dreamcast on Steam Deck. As you know Dreamcast had a bunch of arcade style games which means quick into the action and pick up and play. Perfect for a portable system like the deck! I play games like Cannon Spike more than Elden Ring 😂

Really clear and nice tutorial. I am struggling with the Steam Rom Manager though. The Dreamcast parser is not there already, I need to create a new parser. I've tried doing that but can never get it to directly launch the game from Steam, only to load the RetroArch GUI. I think the issue is when I choose My Steam Deck is completely stock and I followed all your other instructions, any idea how to fix that?

i tried a Bios setup like the one you had shown and steam deck is not picking it up. I guess its a bad bios set but i can't find a working one anywhere so I give up.

Hello! Your emulation tutorials on the deck has been helpful for me and the community! My question, so I downloaded some dreamcast roms and the files are in .iso and .raw. Are these type of files usable or nah?

05:48 shows all supported rom format . otherwise you have to covert iso to bin format

Hello, i have followed your directions to a "T" but I am still encountering an issue when I attempt to run games in 'game mode.' I have both RetroArch + Flycast installed, Bios + Flash in the proper place, Roms are GDI files. When I run the game from how you showed at 7:40 in you video, the game crashes and takes me back games profile page.

Hey buddy. Do you have cue & bin format roms? If that’s the case. Use emideck rom compression tool it will translate your rom into a single CHD format then you won’t have duplicated titles

make sure you put the bios files into DC folder. and make sure your bios file name are not capitalized letters.

Dreamcast games are not starting, N64 yes, Saturn yes. I uninstalled Retroarch and reinstalled it following your procedure (installing steam rom manager again) but still no launch of DC content, any idea what I could try? Thank you!

@@ED4T you are absolut correct, i HAD the correct format and used the reduce file size in emudeck and it converted me all the DC roms in CHDs that don´t load anymore. Strange it didnt happen to others.

Figured it out for anyone with this problem . Go to emustation > options > other settings > alternative emulators > change from default to standalone Hope this helps!
