Just in case anyone is wondering... the location he put the thermal pads on the bottom of the board is not correct. You want to put the thermal pads on the two small square humps on the bottom metal shield - once put in that location and the board is put back over the bottom shield the thermal pads will make contact with the chips they are supposed to contact. Hope this helps! Great video!

Just an FYI the two lumps sticking up on the shield in the bottom of the Dreamcast, that's the best place to stick the thermal pads otherwise you run the risk of them falling off when you place the mainboard back in. Have a great day nice video dude.

agreed, that's where the old ones were on mine. a "thermal pad to nowhere" doesn't cool anything :-D. it has to sit on metal

Quiero hacerlo en mi Dreamcast, según he leído en foros se deben usar pads termicos de 1,5mm arriba y de 1mm debajo ¿Es correcto?

As far as I searched for this information, it's 1mm thickness, both parts of the mother-board. People who say it's 1,5mm just want to know more than the Japanese engineer who created Dreamcast. It has got to be the same thickness the original is. A thicker one may isolate the heat and not transfer it to the heat sink

Cool vid just making sure both CPU and GPU chips are 1mm thickness right?

Yes that is what I am using and they work well for me.
