Absolute legend I've been trying to find out more information about my Dreamcast for ages I put the gdemu in it but haven't turned it on lucky I found your video save me from frying it and having to buy another one.

Why wouldn't you do all that with a hot air station ? ? Is there a reason or do you just prefer to use your soldering iron ? ?

You didn't show how to remove the heatsink assembly without damaging the thermal pads. Did you use a hot air gun? Any solvents to loosen them up?

These consoles are all almost 25 years old at this point it’s probably a good idea to just buy replacements.

I ripped the pads off trying this.. honest mistake. Be carefull they are very fragile.

Can you still use a newer gd drive that use 3.3v ?

Yes those ones have "3.3v" stamped on the gd drive metal shield.
