Neat video. Shenmue on Saturn is gorgeous... but the awful framerate explains that pretty easily. Also, I'm really surprised to find out that the original Guilty Gear was going to have a Saturn release.

It's a shame that we will never have the chance to play these wonderful games on the Sega Saturn console. :/

Interesting footage you have there, which is kinda rare in the US. It is possible to do a version with English text?
@yawa10 жыл бұрын
It is difficult, but I want to translate. If there is no Saturn version in the video, we have used a lot of other models version. New channels Regards! goo.gl/QSRmQZ
***** Must be this. Sega shouldn't made such a complicated hardware.
@yawa8 жыл бұрын
Development of PS2 was also very complicated, but development was pursued because it was a big hit. Even if the configuration of the game hardware is complicated, it will be pursued if it is a big hit .... Sega Saturn was defeated in both Japan and North America ... It is a shame.
@sebastiann.80885 жыл бұрын
@@yawa In Japan Sega Saturn was big success. Only North America and Europe it failed.
Japanese Scorcher exists (T-8128G), but very rare. One copy was sold by Hit-Japan a year ago for $300 (complete with a regcard and a spinecard).

What game is at 6:42? Though I love Saturn, the Dreamcast and Shenmue series (especially the 2nd chapter) I must say I don't think that Saturn could have really handled that polygons amount, detailed textures and lightmapping of the several architectures and even at that smooth framerate you can see for example at 2:35 (though at certain points in the video the framerate is quite low which is not balanced and even weirder). The characters animations we can see in the video are often too much detailed for the machine capabilities, 2:01-2:08 Ren movements look like obtained from a fine motion capture which is totally absent even in the Dreamcast version. The facial expressions are too richly detailed and sharp and the colour depth and shades too much extended. Also at 3:07 and in other rotating background screens there's textures bump mapping, an hardware feature that only Dreamcast will have later and it's even barely used in its games (basically just in Soul Calibur and Tomb Raider Last Revelation). In short I think this is just material rendered at low resolution by a powerful workstation for the times and never been adapted to run on a real Saturn.

19:02 - Killing Time. This came out on the 3DO. I have it and am playing it on my Japanese FZ-10 at this point in time ^_^

TheDistorted Released in Japan only in 3DO. It is a very minor game. 3DO has become the subject of ridicule in Japan. Fans will stay only a little as a valuable game machine play overseas games.
@TheDistorted9 жыл бұрын
やわらか宇宙研究所 Yeah, it is the same in the west. It is a relatively unknown game, and the 3DO is generally mocked here aswell. That it is region-free is great, yes. Shame it only had games developed for it for about 2 years before being discontinued. Anyway, I like it ^_^ But Sega Saturn will no doubt always be my absolute favourite console overall :)

It's a shame that would be cool RPG game for the Saturn doe.
Is the gameplay of VF3 at kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKezlqWplN6Gipo in the Saturn?

+Script10k 3:34 Arcade game version. Sega Saturn version of the video does not exist. Sega Saturn version on the net is probably fake.
@Script10k9 жыл бұрын
+やわらか宇宙研究所 ありがとう! That just looked to good to be the Saturn version. Although I'm pretty sure they could get a really good looking version on the Saturn (even VF2 looks stunning on the console).
Not all of these never-released Japanese Sega Saturn games are gems. The Data East game Trio The Punch was horrible & a Saturn version of the rotten live-action FPS, Corpse Killer. A pity that crap 3D Contra game was ported over for the PS1. What a shame the US Saturn never lasted long enough to get the far superior Alien vs. Predator arcade game, instead of the garbage FPS that was made for the Atari Jaguar. I guess that all-girl fight game at 12:22 will forever languish in Japan...
@yawa9 жыл бұрын
+TimelordR 12:22 Money Puzzle Exchanger I feel that is going up in price slightly in Japan. In Japan, it is about the current $ 22.
Man a lot of great arcade games that have never been on consoles. Also would have loved another port of Killing Time it would have ran better on Saturn than 3DO same for Return Fire.
Wait, Alien vs Predator was confirmed for the Saturn? I thought the 32X port was the only home console version the game would receive, scrapped along with Darkstalkers 1 because of the failure of the system.
