Both were pretty unapologetic. I can't speak for Ainge, But Laimbeer has been a class act off the court and for charitable events. I also don't remember too much rough stuff after the torch passed to Chicago other than the square off with Mahorn and Barkley.

tucsonia absolutely. That era made boys,,,into men, stars, and legends. Laimbeer was an awesome player and outside of the Bucks of the 80's the Bad Boy Pistons were my favorite team to watch even over the Showtime Lakers and the classic IBM machine running like Celtics.

I loved the fierce competition in the league back then - Laimbeer and Ainge definitely cranked up the volume. One of my favorite moments in NBA history was Robert Parrish pulling a "Kung Fu" move on Laimbeer @ 2:00...

I admit that I'm not impartial because I was a fan of the Bad Boys in the late 80s. But even if you're a Larry Bird fanatic from that period would you trade away the dramas of that period for the pussified NBA of today? I liked it when the players were allowed to play more like men, even if it was sometimes dirty.

I always loved Laimbeer and sometimes he should have bitched. But you have to admit he was a tough good player and was VERY UNDER rated.

On the court, I hated Laimbeer. I didn't think of the Pistons as the "bad boys" as they didn't act like it, they acted like punks. Off the court, Bill Laimbeer is one of the nicest guys around.

+DoubleVisionandco Kevin McHale was actually quoted as saying this about Laimbeer, "Any guy who drinks beer and plays golf can't be all that bad."

Ainge was NOT a dirty player. Laimbeer was DIRTY as hell. He took it too far and tried to hurt people.

there's a difference between Laimbeer and Ainge Laimbeer tries to end your career with every move he made, most of the player rather lose a game than facing retirement. Ainge tries to irritate you, typical Ainge defense is foul you with left hand then punch your stomach with right hand, since the one got punched is pro athlete, they just get mad not feard, that's why amoung nba players Ainge is not that dirty,
