I admire your craftsmanship, but also your patience. I would probably go stir crazy cutting all those pieces! The end result, however, is definitely worth the effort!

Beautiful design as usual. I drifted for a minute when you were sanding the rings to make them triangular. I was trying to think about building a sled to cut them on the band saw to come up with the same result, this giving you two rings from each one you glued up. I so love using an oil finish similar to what you used. Always so satisfying to see the colors in the wood come to life. Super job.

I also thought about halving the ring using a band saw but I don't have a big band saw to cut it, thanks 🙏🙏

This was fascinating to watch. The planning of such a piece must take a lot of time, and not a minute of the prep was wasted. Stunning. What a way to see out 2023 I wish you and your family a happy and Healthy 2024. I am looking forward to seeing more of your sublime work. 👏 👏 👏

A few years ago I made a similar Taurus but I made the rings thicker and cut them in half at an angle before running them through the drum sander. Twice the rings for half the glue ups. Your Taurus looks great. 👍 By the way, Denatured alcohol will soften hot melt glue.

I feel in my honest opinion it shouldn't be on a stand. The form is so tactile people want to hold it and touch it, slide their hands about it. Putting it on a stand is like chaining a marble to the floor or tying up a football. Sorry for the negativity....it sure it beautiful but the stand is like a heavy cage and you can't really experience it's true beauty unless u only want people to look at it
