The construction is dated, depending on the sources, between the end of I and the beginning of II century a.d. At that time, most of the Iberian peninsula was ruled by Rome. So its age is almost 18 hundred yo.

Think about this. When El Cid rode under that aqueduct, the building was there 1000 years before of him.

It's so mind boggling awesome to think about that! I wonder if El Cid was just as impressed as tourists are today? Hats off to the Roman designers and builders of this masterpiece that could still stand for 1000s more years.

@@AndersonsArrive I idon't know, the people of the penninsula always knew about the romans and used these buildings, so they probably weren't so impressed (unless the arabs) like the german tribes that arrived to the actual UK (anglos, saxons & jutes) by example.

This aqueduct is Iberian, not Roman, and almost all of Segovia is also built by the Iberians.

No tienes ni idea, machote. El acueducto lo hicieron los romanos; en esa época los habitantes de la península eran romanos.
