Wow! I saw both Tebaldi and Corelli in La Gioconda at the Met in 1967. They were great.

Technical and camp robots - both awful. Even Callas acted better than these two, then again to be fair, Callas acted better than MANY in her profession.

The objective definitions of the adjective, noun, and verb of camp, which anyone can look up for themselves, unless they wish to twist words and meanings around are - "camp - /kamp/ - adjective - adjective: camp deliberately exaggerated and theatrical in style, typically for humorous effect. "the movie seems more camp than shocking or gruesome" Similar: exaggerated theatrical actorly affected mannered flamboyant extravagant overripe camped up over the top OTT ostentatiously and extravagantly effeminate (typically used of a man or his manner). "a heavily made-up and highly camp actor" Similar: effeminate effete foppish affected niminy-piminy mincing posturing campy queeny offensive limp-wristed pansyish noun noun: camp deliberately exaggerated and theatrical behavior or style. "Hollywood camp" verb verb: camp; 3rd person present: camps; past tense: camped; past participle: camped; gerund or present participle: camping behave in an ostentatiously effeminate way (typically used of a man). "he camped it up a bit for the cameras" --- This is not my opinion but the objective fact and sadly, for many of the actors in this recorded production they vocally and physically behave in a camp way - regardless if it was intentional or accidental.

@@aclassicaltrove Clearly, you didn't read what is the objective fact and which I defer to. At least, you gave me the courtesy of letting me know your opinion, though you did resort to false accusations and even admitted to "understanding the backlash against you". I would hope that you will not participate in such vitriol and personal libel because it is unwarranted to do so, as it is frankly immature. Sadly, many get hyper defensive when their favourites are objectively critiqued and flaws are pointed out - however, I'm not personally offended when people point out the performance or technical flaws in my favourites. Perhaps one day you will understand what the minority of greats tried to do, and I genuinely sincerely hope you and others do but I humbly suggest that others and anyone who condones such vitriol and personal death threats and attacks on looks or on character to take a good hard look in the mirror before doing so and leave that childish behavior in the sandbox where it belongs. Mature civil adults don't behave that way and they appreciate civil discussion and even disagreement, without resorting to such cheap tactics. :)

you refer to Callas sshe is a low class or a secondary singer and vocalist ( " EVEN Callas acted better " ). As if Callas is not considered one of the very best interpreters of all time (if not the absolute best)
