Doctor you are absolutely right, this is a debatable topic. Who says diapers are for mothers to rest and even if it is then what's wrong in it? Well rested mom can take care of baby well. Directly or indirectly it benefits the baby only.Personally I don't like my baby to wear cloth langot. It makes me think about my babies hygiene issue. I used to put my baby in langot for initial months. But sooner I realised langots are not able to absorb the urine and urine spreads to babies clothes, bedsheets on carpets sometimes. There came the stage when she used to put everything in mouth so she started putting dry mats in mouth, she touches her langots n puts hands in mouth. I am no way gona let my baby put that urine filled hands via mats or langots put in her mouth. No way, and in top of it, with the use of langot her sleep was disrupted. I switched to diapers most of the time and for few hours during the day i give her diaper break. I regularly oil and put powder time to time on her diaper area.Trust me no rashes nothing. Hygiene is also important. Mother's rest is also important.

I change every two hours and before it is too wet and clean the baby with water based wipe and warm water. Dry with a soft towel and use coconut oil. My baby is happy comfortable and rash free. It's not possible to keep a new born baby diaper free in winter. When the baby starts sitting then we can potty train and make them diaper free.

Use diaper at night because it gives peaceful sleep as well maintain hygiene, If the night sleep is good then the growth of the child will also be good and the child will not be restless during the day If the clothes get wet at night, it can cause cold, so diapers can be used at night, till the age of three years
