Nice outcome, thanks for sharing the detail on the inner ring, difference.

Terrific work Adrian, and thanks for the lesson on the bezel rings! Question though, why can't you find the dimpled crown for this? I have used several for restorations including the blue resist dial that you did for me.
@hal0eight4 жыл бұрын
I can, but the ones from Asia usually have a very deep dimple. The one fitted here is actually a genuine SEIKO OEM part and is what they were issuing until I think the mid-2000's if you ordered the original 50M04NS crown. The thing with these is that they do take the correct DJ0160 seal and have a recess in the back to center the stem spring. I managed to get a few of these recently. With the Asian crowns, I often have to slot them on the lathe to take the right seal, so in this case I thought I'd use one of the OEM parts.

Good evening sir,. Can you tell me how and where to source a dial spacing ring for 6139-6000?

Nice job, but the outer bezel is 1-2 min off position :-)

Pretty sure I noted that early in the video, I did fix it later on. They're a bit fiddly to fit due to the bezel ring tension spring pushing the crystal up, so I often fit them roughly, wait for the seal to stick to the metal, then re-set it correctly.

look like it still have that 58sec chronohand stoppage. i have the same problem on one of mine, but that one is not serviced
@hal0eight4 жыл бұрын
The 58sec stoppage will always happen if you have less than around 75% power in the mainspring. On an unserviced watch it will probbably be worse as it will have barrel arbor wear, which will mean less power is getting to the train.

Hi Adrian, hope you're well. How did you get around this issue? Just bought a new black inner bezel from seikosis. I have an early notched case and have the same problem you mention in the video. Will a later dial spacer ring solve the issue?
@hal0eight4 жыл бұрын
On the last one I had a few months ago I ended up machining a step into the dial ring. A later rotating ring should work ok on the early dial ring though, but you might need to install a tension spring as they have a lower cut out around the circumference of the ring and will shake around, so the gear won't engage properly

@@hal0eight Adrian, thanks for the reply. I've had a close look today and the new rotating ring works ok until you pull the crown to change the time. When you push the crown/stem back in, the gear on the stem fouls the bottom of the rotating ring. The new rotating ring is basically sitting on the gear and when the crown is pulled and the gear slides out from the teeth of rotating ring, the rotating ring drops ever so slightly. When you go to push the stem back in, the rotating ring is now sitting to low and the gear rubs the bottom circumference of the rotating ring. This friction prevents the gear sliding back into the teeth. The rotating ring needs to sit very slightly higher to avoid this happening so I guess that's why you machined a step in the dial spacer so it could sit slightly higher? Do you think dial spacer ring from a 6139b would correct this? P.S your jewels arrived today in excellent time to the UK. 12 days 👍
