Seiko - 6139-6002 "Pogue " - Re Casing After Service

This video is meant as a general guide to how the Seiko 6139 Chrono is re cased after service, the video does not include all subsequent checks done thereafter.
Checks performed after this step are not shown but include timing/chrono function/date quick set function/gaskets/ crown adjustments/ inner bezel etc.

Thanks for this video. I've watched it several times and it truly helped me as I'm building my own 6139-6005 resist blue dial from parts from all over the world. It's taken like two years so far but I'm almost at the finish line. I have the stem coming in the mail and only need a rotating inner bezel but I'm settling on an aftermarket rotating inner bezel for now until I find a decently priced one. Everything else is original. My birth watch is the true pogue and to be honest I cannot afford that so that's why I'm building one and it's also why it's taken so long.

well done👍 nothing wrong with Frankenstein pogues if your happy with that as you've made it but a lot of people get conned into buying franken versions being told their original

Is it possible to change the bezel insert without having tools for pressing the bezel+crystal back on? Can i just leave it all assembled but somehow get the bezel insert out and get a new one in? If it is possible, what would you suggest as the correct tool and way of doing it? Thx in advance!

To remove the inner chapter you will require only a case knife to lift the bezel, but to re fit the parts you will need a case press & die set. No other way around it I'm afraid. A case knife and case press can be found relatively cheaply and sufficiently to do the job, just search amazon or ebay.

I have never before seen a yellow 6139 "Pogue" with a grayish inner rotating ring. Those rings were originally yellow and are now still yellow, faintly yellow or white. But great informative video nonetheless. Thanks.

They were black in the Australian market.

Bit scary movement fell out on flip. Could have mangled hands or hit dial. Mmmm also music horrible sorry
