Holy COW, Such a good clock. And rare! I want one of those. Do you still have it for sale?
@CBF13 жыл бұрын
@@Rhythmman14 it's nearly as rare as a musical Beha cuckoo clock... of which I FOUND 3 for sale.

I did also want one, because how good this timepiece is + it is a part of my childhood, i remember coming back from school to watch this clock everyday. Sadly, seiko didn't produce this anymore & didn't have any better alternatives / successors today. Although there is a lot of tall wall clocks made by seiko chiming Westminster & Whittington (i like these chimes too, but i like it played on steel rods better), they're not up to this masterpiece's level, not at all imo. Don't get me wrong, honestly they're very good & a very good deal, but there's just something i liked very much of this clock that's incomparable to other seikos. The melodies and the hour strike was silky smooth and lovely, very nostalgic to me, the design was nicely made. Although this clock was no longer produced, at least other seiko emblems had very nice melodies too. Johann Baptist Beha's clocks you mentioned was also very rare, i have seen the story of their family clockmakers. How this very good masterpieces productions ends in the 1950's because world war limited their supplies was very miserable. I have also read the story of the brother, Lorenz Beha, he was attacked by anonymous peoples, get his timepieces and jewelry stolen, and also met his fate, although justice was served days later. Beha's family is a very good clockmakers, but god have chosen their final destiny...

@@RidhaFX Apparently this model costs nearly or over £1000 as well. Your comment probably explains why, it was a well-crafted model and the tune arrangements were better than nearly every other Seiko clock ever made in my opinion. It is a rare clock too, I have never seen one for sale yet. Wasn't it only sold in the States or what? As for Beha it takes a long time to find Musical Behas and I found several of them over the course of a few years including a model 584(based on the catalog) with a music box at the end of June/July last year which got taken off ebay for a reason I don't know. They made some of the most superior quality clocks ever made. The amount of detail and how well finished they were was beyond all other cuckoo clocks literally, especially in their more luxorious shelf musical ones. They look like Buckingham Palace quality for crying out loud! Although defunct it is a good thing their clocks exist and that people don't scrap antique cuckoo clocks. How could anyone? Too historic, lots of effort and passion went into them, and overall too special... Any cuckoo clock in my opinion should not be scrapped, even the battery operated ones. I like all cuckoo clocks and nearly all(if not all) Melodies in Motion clocks. The AHS001BH/Decor AS893B and the QXM111GRH are some of my all time favourites.

I'd settle for just a majestic Westminster or Whittington, which I've yet to hear -- the slow, deep, regal, reverberating tones that are only heard on large grandfather clocks. Let's face it, no matter how pleasant an actual song may be, hearing it from a clock every hour or less would be maddening for most folks -- and a great way to ruin a song!!!
@mildlydecent3 жыл бұрын

How would it ruin the song? Only way I've seen is if the song was poorly rendered which is the case with many Rhythm clocks, but none with Seiko clocks.
