This is a great reference for virtually anyone. The Seiko aesthetics and build quality always astound me given the price. I am writing this with a more pretentious Grand Seiko diver on but my two more modest Seiko divers bring me as much pleasure and use as more august divers. The utilitarian values of this kind of Seiko dive watch are hard to beat. The high price of the dollar in relationship to the yen make it a no brainer to order the JDM references from credible Japanese sellers like Sakura.

No way! I gotta thank you, Bobby, because about 4-5 weeks ago I was listening to your livestreams and you mentioned that Sakura was having a sale on this model at a great price. I've long admired the SPB147, but was always hesitant to drop a grand on one, but your livestream-head's up on the Sakura sale was the impetus for me to purchase one that very night. I put it on an Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet, and absolutely love it! It's such a great watch. So thanks man!! Great review!

Purchased this exact watch two weeks back , everything you say is correct , as you also said the down side is the strap slipping out of the keeper , but that’s only negative for what is a stunning watch , I also own an oris diver 65 and a doxa sub 200 , this is my favourite at the moment though . Great review , many thanks from the UK

@@craigfisher607 it’s a beautiful colour . Only downside as I said is the strap slips out of the keeper sometimes , but I get lot of compliments on this watch , let me know how you get on with it Craig . I’m an avid watch collector . Very addictive it is lol

I have this watch (the model without the 3 o'clock lume) and I love it so much, I even purchased the OEM bracelet. My only issue is the movement's accuracy - at least, with my watch. It can go almost -5 seconds by mid day after synchronizing it and for me and my line of work that's no good. Sadly, I can't make my daily driver.

I must have watched about 50 videos on this watch every one of them the bezel lines up perfectly and everyone raves about the accuracy I bought one for £900 the misalignment is terrible and the accuracy is way off spec just my luck

Sorry to hear about the misalignment of your watch. I do not report accuracy on seikos. They typically are eratic on timegraphers.

Anche io ho lo stesso orologio e mediamente va avanti di 15/20 secondi al giorno. Non ho disallineamento. Essendo un orologio meccanico non mi curo troppo della precisione. Ho semplicemente messo indietro di due minuti l'orologio ,così quando dovrò risistemarlo lo farò dopo 10 giorni. Preferisco avere un orologio che mi piace al polso , e pazienza se il movimento non è super preciso. Magari fra la due anni passo dal orologiaio e lo faccio sistemare.
