Unfortunately the lack of info on this particular watch is one of the larger reasons for its controversy, as far as being considered one of the MACV-SOG models. There is no concrete evidence for or against it, but it certainly seems to fit a pattern, and would have been the logical evolution of those particular service watches. Could a seiko 6139 6007 have been issued in Vietnam?

I've seen the 6007 discussed on forums as having been an early reference intended for some of the Latin American markets, but was quickly replaced by the 6009 for the North American market as a whole. As far as I know, only the MACV-SOG references have any affiliation with US military operations during Vietnam, but many other references were available to enlisted at PX/BX exchanges. Several were quite popular for their ruggedness and legibility. --Seth @ hcv
