That is a matter of preference, I personally prefer Super Jubilee but I also like Super Oyster.

That's a very fair assessment of the SKX's positive and negative points and your recent camera upgrade makes it even more enjoyable to watch. I have mounted my 007 on the new Crafter Blue CB05 rubber strap and have found that to be the perfect match for summer wear. It appeared that the SKX was ending production in 2016 but I am glad to see it more readily available in 2017. One has to wonder if Seiko would drop a hacking and hand-winding 4R36 movement (used in the Monster and Turtle series) in a mark II version of the SKX but that would certainly raise the price. Excellent review as always!

Thanks, I'glad that you like it, I'm thinking about buying Crafter Blue strap as well, I really like it. At baselworld 2017 Seiko said that they scaled down the production, but it seems like it is not a problem to get one for reasonable price at the moment. I don't think that they will put 4R36 in SKX, it has its place in hierarchy with 7S26. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I've had both watches (Omega & Seiko), and I agree with everything he says. I also have a 1979 Seiko diver's watch, which looks the same as the SKX007J - but features the superior 7548 quartz movement. (Back then it cost $325 Cdn. or about $280 US.)

I bought mine in 1999 still brand new, could say its a wrist Toyota , also have another Seiko, black dial, metal bracelet, says on the back 7002 7039 AO , do you know what model is this? Great watches, nice video

Great review. Can't go wrong with the SK009 in the collection. Have one. Even though it's a 42mm, it wears a little smaller which is a good thing. The crown screw down though is rough and a pain in the ass,

I have a nh35a movement pro diver with hacking and winding with a staggering +15-30 a day and my 7s26 is far more accurate of +-2 second a day

Great video! I own both the SKX175 and the SKX007J, and both run pretty accurately, maybe loses a few seconds per month. For the money, for the average budget, I think the SKX, is the best dive watch, and compares favorably to watches that cost 4-5 times as much. Sure, it doesn't compare to a Sub or FiftyFathoms, but what dive watch does??? I love them and will own them for the rest of my life.

you should never keep your watches on those winders because they will make you watch lose time and cause extra wear and tear on your watches, that spring needs to relax from time to time

Trevor Hutcheson agree- unless you have a watch with a few complications (ie a triple calendar moonphase) that are annoying to constantly set I would never use a winder.

Depends what else you have and/or what else you intend to buy. I have a mm300 and speedy pro so would go with the Pepsi for a bit of variety but if I had a gmt Pepsi I would get the black dial

I would have gone for the 009 Pepsi but seeing that I already owned the Turtle PADI Special Edition Pepsi I went for the 007 & I love it! Both watches are exactly the same so which ever anyone goes for, they're onto a winner. I'm not bothered about Hacking & Hand winding; I hardly ever use it on my other divers, I like to use the "Seiko Shuffle" as it isn't wearing the hand winding mechanism & the "Seiko Shuffle" is tried & tested over 20+ years, so why do anything else?!? Hopefully if Seiko continue making these amazing SKX models they will NOT make it Hackable etc as this new technology hasn't proven itself to be as robust as the 7s26 movement. Why change something which has stood the test of time? Us stupid humans do this all of the time & mess up a good thing. If you want hand winding & hacking......BUY A TURTLE OR SOMETHING ELSE! Great review my man!
