Good video. I had the SBBN029 (LE of 700) and sold it to help fund daughter's first car. Several months have gone by and I am on the hunt for the next Tuna as I miss it. Thinking of the SBBN025, Darth. I like both of yours and love Spring Drive.

Thanks! If you’re comfortable buying used out of Japan, buyee has a few coupons floating around for mercari/yahoo Jp right now. Some good deals out there.

Great review! Moving to the new style hands allows them to reissue a Limited Edition Emperor Tuna with the OG hands in the future….at a premium. Crop circle lume plots included ;)

both cool watches. of the two i prefer your first one.. the matt bezel is more legible for example. you make valid points re servicing and parts, no doubt. but the 6159 Grandfather Tuna is a killer watch. there’s nothing quite like that model.

It would be a nice watch to have, but after having spent years tracking down spare parts for an Aquastar Benthos, I never want to have to go vintage parts hunting again. I hold out some hope for 3D printing, but who knows how long it will take for the technology to mature.

Funny l, but I have the humble MM300 Tuna in Quartz. Same handset. Love their clarity. Ditto on the silicone strap. Took the original Titanium off and never went back on.

I'm also looking for the SBDB009. I bought a MM300 7C46 Quartz in blue (Blue Tuna SBBN037) a couple weeks ago for 600$ (awesome deal). I never tough I would love it that much! The silicon band is sooooo good, I even sleep with it most of the time! Now that I've been bit by the Tuna bug, i can't get the SBDB009 out of my head. For 4k US,it is an awesome value on the used market for a spring drive icon! That's a no brainer... but do I need another Tuna?? :D

The tunas are addictive. The 009 can be had for between 1.5 -2k usd on mercari.jp / yahoo auctions.jp if you are patient.

@@InterestingWatches Thanks for the info. Ebay is crazy expensive : 4k. There's one being sold on Watchuseek for 2.1k. Looks in good shape. I might reach to the owner this week.

Doesn't Seiko HQ offer a repair service for some of it's iconic vintage watches? A bit like BMW Classic...
@InterestingWatches8 ай бұрын
They will take it in, but will warn you that they don’t have any spare parts available. For vintage Seiko (at least in the US), Jack at IWW is your best bet. Some of the Swiss brands can repair their older watches, but will usually force you to replace the old dial/hands/crystal.

Although I bought and still have two beautiful dive watches I've come to the conclusion that now I think wearing them is a joke, because almost all of the people that buy and wear them will never dive even once in their lifetime and the vast majority of people that do dive never wear them when they're diving.
@InterestingWatches8 ай бұрын
Sure, ultimately it’s a gimmick. But I like them anyway.
@Shadowman-19608 ай бұрын
@@InterestingWatchesI can see why because some of them are very nice. I think I was just being a little grumpy because I never wore mine for more than a few minutes, and then I still bought another one I don't wear. 👍🏻

Where can I buy it?

Most likely ebay

I’ve had good luck buying on mercari Jp/ yahoo auctions japan. I wouldn’t deal with eBay, especially on watches above 2k because of their mandatory authentication service.
