Great review. I had really not heard of this model, but I have to say I like it, especially the more wearable dimensions. My son has a SKX I bought him for Christmas a couple of years ago. I had an original turtle being the 6309 that I wore everywhere in the Navy for many years, then I bought the new turtle when they came out. I now wear a 36mm Smith's Navigator and the new Timor Heritage field which comes in at 36.5mm. I much prefer a 36mm now and just can't see myself wearing the larger watches. I was so close to buying this last week as I think they are a steal right now but ended picking up a seiko samurai save the oceans. I think it looks super slick on that jubilee! Cool watch and great review.

Wasn't really excited with the 5kx and the downgrading of the skx specs. But I love these dress kx models, just great looking with that smooth bezel. The brushed nato models look the best, especially that grey one. Looks amazing both on the nato and Uncle Seiko. 👏💪

Just got mine the other day. Love everything about it. I’m probably one of a few out there that appreciate the unsigned crown. The only gripe, wish, is the English/Spanish day wheel. Wish it was the English/Roman wheel. But for the price I can live with it.

Good afternoon. I just unpacked my first watch - Seiko 5 srpe61, immediately noticed that when I turn the wrist, I hear a quiet sound like light clicks. I understand this is how the rotor moves? Should such a light "tsik tsik tsik" sound come from this?)

Hi , I just wanted to tell you I really enjoyed this review. I just graduated from college and started getting into watches. I bought the hked version of the seagull 1963 which I love and I just ordered the snkl45j1. I live at Colombia and here they only have the k version of this one , same as yours. I know it seems to be just a myth but do you think there is any difference in quality between k and j versions? Yours looks amazing and I think this color is the best one aswell. I really want to saveup some money and get it

not a fan of that 'uncle seiko' looks almost as bad as the original seiko-bracelet. Would always go for the strapcode-one, their oyster looks awesome.

I hear ya, The Uncle bracelets definitely have that vintage vibe, which is cool in its own way. My only problem with Strapcode is the male endlinks, change those to female and they would crush.
