Excellent review Gordon and I must say how nice it is to have another Australian contributor. I sincerely hope you can find the time for additional reviews equally as comprehensive and professional as this one.

That's an excellent review!! Especially like the historical comparison and accurate and useful details on things to watch out for. Was surprised to only see two watch reviews on your channel, it sounds like you've been doing this for years! (Please do more, of any brand. :) )

Great review Gordon, so glad they have brought out the new SRPs, bought a 777 and 775 from Creation watches, delivered in 3 days to Scotland, bought a 6309 from philipines about 5 years ago, was promised it was pressure tested, fully serviced etc etc, flooded on my introduction to water! lol...........so glad the new ones are out, Ps my 777 is very slighty out of alignment but its hardly noticeable.

Yep they are amazing So happy they put the 4R36 in them. This watch is going to be a huge seller for Seiko.

Great review, Gordon! I'm a Seiko diver's watch fan and I'm just so happy Seiko decided to do a reissue of one of my favorite watches! I'm about to get one, myself and may even have to buy a second one, later on. You know, to keep things in balance, since I got two SKXs, as well. ; ) Think I'll try and get my hands on one of those new SE PADI versions. They look awesome, with the blue sunburst dial and Pepsi bezel. Anyway, thanks Gordon! And thank you Seiko for bringing back the 6309!

I picked up a 775 a few weeks ago and I love it more every day I wear it. Something about the gilt, the turtle case and the bracelet make it look extremely vintage.

He doesn't use the right terminology, or special terms that only Seiko uses, and makes up his own scatter brained attributes. It's like he thinks things things like this are made like cheap digital watches, or iphones or something?

As much as I love the look of 777 (779,775) same time I am little disappointed that they used 4r36 in it. This beauty need 6r15, especially on this price point. I am sure there will be 6r15 version, we shall keep one eye on Japanese domestic market.

Fantastic job. I have the gilt one incoming. Do you have a part number for purchasing the strap alone?
@romeo60488 жыл бұрын
Neat review. As I understand, the Seiko Prospex Turtle is not for the Japan Domestic Market and the lume is Seiko's own Lumibrite. Many of the SRP777J1 Made in Japan print, are mostly out of stock. I hope they will be back on the seller's shelves soon as I am presently searching for one.

And here I was, thinking I was the only one that hated the PS (X) logo they've been putting on everything. I personally think it takes away from the classiness of the watch. There is too much text in my opinion, but I will totally buy this because I recently fell in love with these turtle watches! Great review!

GREAT reviw. so i bought the SRP775-K. You should do more reviews. Why not review your collection of watches / Seiko's. Would be very nice.

I'm glad to see Seiko bringing these to the market. The one and only downside is the second hand. Why they would put the lollipop lume on the opposite end is beyond me. My 6309 second hand has the lollipop on the correct side. However, this will not deter me from getting the SRP777. These will most definitely sell very well.
@grantpowell90758 жыл бұрын
My SRP775J1 is amazingly accurate. Having lost only half a second after a week of wrist time, which I can adjust for by leaving it face up overnight. I've also got an SKX009k1 which consistently runs -10 s/d. I think Seiko did a great job with this reissue.

Hi there Gordon,a very good review by the way.Have a question about the SRP 777J model for you.Why are there different markings on the dial of the J model?On some watches it reads "Movt Japan" and the one sold in Singapore reads "Made in Japan",could it be that one of them is a JDM issued watch and the other is a "J" model for international market?appreciate your take on this...best regards.

What a great Aussie reviewer. Great detail. Do you know anyone in Australia (Sydney) who can mod these watches. Thinking of a double dome sapphire and ceramic bezel.
@jimsy55307 жыл бұрын
Quick question - this is the only Seiko I have, a 2016 777 J market one. It has been worn about 6 times, including once surfing. I took it out of its box to wear this week, and found the crown is quite wobbly when unscrewed. I cannot remember what it was like when I bought it in 2016 - can anyone advise me what theirs is like re. crown wobble? Thanks in advance!

Just got my 777...how accurate should the watch be. Is gaining a minute a day acceptable?
@gordonhack52126 жыл бұрын
Hi Rotty. No, 1 minute plus a day is definitely outside of Seiko specs for the 4R36 movement. 15 to 20 seconds plus is the stated accuracy and I've had these movements run a lot better than that. Its possible that the movement might have become magnetised. This is an easy and cheap fix that any watch maker should be able to help you with.

I have a crazy question to ask. I know 200m is 660 FT. What is 150m? I hope this is not a dump question. Is it 350m?
@voltecrules6248 жыл бұрын
Michael Kish Please use a ratio. 200/660 = 150/x 200x/660 = 150 200x = 660 (150) 200x = 99,000 x = 99,000 / 200 x = 495 ft.

I just ordered my J1 from Japan. Its more expensive but is made in Japan.
@pibblesnbits8 жыл бұрын
The new second hand with the lume pip on the opposite end rubs me wrong. WHY?!?!?! It's because it is cheaper for seiko to reuse old SKX parts on this new model. Also being assembled in China really takes away from this watch. Would rather buy the original one made in Japan. - Another cost cutting measure. What a shame.
