Hurrah! What a pleasant sound! The musical sequence at every quarter hour and hour strike following the fourth quarter sequence on tuned set of tubular bells or chiming bars are really pleasant and enjoyable to hear. Nowadays we find easy to record and program the musical sequence and hour strike sound of tubular bells or chiming bars in circuit board of sound chips, connect to speaker and install in quartz clocks but antique mechanical clock makers took much hard efforts to make striking gear train and quarter chiming gear train and install parallel with time keeping gear train and install in mechanical clocks. Even if electronically imitated it sounds like real tubular bells.

Take the clock down and turn the time setting knob on the back of the movement.

Awesome, also ah, you mentioned your grandparents have had a SEIKO dual chime regulator clock with "tinny chimes", does it have a gold plated face? And did you recall it's model number?

It has a gold ring, and I can recall a model number of one from eBay, it's probably QXH103BCHAKCTE

And yea that model was a rarity of its own, one with an electronic sounding chime despite its movement sharing the same, exact dual chime features that all dual chime clocks have to this day. Seems like this model was used as a trial when upgrading dual chime clocks to their SKP movements back then, produced between 1998 till its retirement in 2004.

How did You get your clock to chim on each quarter hour? I just put batteries in mine and it is not doing it. Thanks!

You let it run for about an hour or less depending on the time and then it will chime the quarter hours. It won't do it manually. And I recorded separate clips for each quarter hour on both chimes.
